More Like Average Rap! But nice, though.

This is a nice collection of rap music. I don't like the following songs: Stop the gunfight by Trapp feat. Notorious B.I.G. & 2Pac (r&b/rap), Da dip by Freak Nasty (down south booty shaking rap), Can you feel me by Dru Down (samples the Fat Boys "Can you feel it") and Thug devotion by Mo Thugs (samples Earth, Wind & Fire "Devotion"). I like the other 8 songs. This collection
is made by K-Tel International (USA), Inc. Records - by way of Cold Front Records. K-Tel is known for issuing non-profanity/dirty music collections. However, I noticed that they haven't been consistant with that. I have 3 of their collections and I noticed at times that there is a dirty version on there. I am no longer into dirty versions. So I only look for clean versions and I checked online to see if Naughty By Nature's "Craziest" was the clean version, before I ordered this. Fortunately for me, it was. I have their album that the song is on but the clean version is far superior to the dirty version. It replaces the dirty words with clean words. Unlike these days, when they make a rap album, which 99% of the time has dirty language, then the producer goes back and silence out the dirty words, so you're left with a song that has all of these awkward silences, which can cause a person to not get what the song is about because they can't hear one sentence without all of these sections being silenced. But anyway...

Ras Kass' song "anything goes" samples Al B Sure's song "ooh this love is so". Coolio's song "i remember" samples the Intruders "Cowboys to girls". PMD has a nice song on here, which surprised me because when he was with Epmd (formerly Epee MD) he had the best rhymes out of him and Erick Sermon - the group members. Then they broke up, and Erick Sermon had the better lyrics on his albums, where as PMD's lyrics were not up to par. This was my first time hearing this song by him and I liked it, instantly.

What I don't like most about this cd is the bad language on Dru Down "Can you feel me", Mo Thugs "Thug devotion" and DJ Honda "Out for cash" (about 2 words, the other bad words were edited out). K-Tel or Cold Front could have at least put these songs through a song editing machine to edit out the bad language. I can tell the following tracks were done that way (by K-Tel/Cold Front or the song's original Producer/Record Company): Trapp "Stop the gunfight", Coolio "I remember", Mobb Deep "Hell on earth and PMD "Rugged N Raw [Original Mix]".

But the negatives don't take away from the collection. Trust me...
