I like Ridge Racer since Rage Racer!

If you like old school PS1 games with limitations for polygon count and a few cars due to the system’s limitations you will enjoy the PS1 games. I like it for the nostalgia I remember where games like this came from and where we are now. I remember playing Sega Turbo in the arcade. I loved it and lived it. Ridge Racer is fun and the more you drive the better you’ll get. I enjoy these games. It’s my history. Lire l'avis complet...

oldie but goldie

It is a really nice racing game of the Ps1 era. The graphics are really good for a Ps1 game and the controls are still very playable even by today's standards. I would highly recommend this game to people that are into old school racing games of the 90s.Lire l'avis complet...

Great game!

Jewel case was a little cracked, but was the original case. Didn't bother me, everything else was in great condition and ran perfectly on PS2. Great find for a great price.

Great classic

Ridge Racer has had man versions over the years but there are two that stand out from the pack: R4 is one of them. One of the best Ridge Racer games of all time showing what was possible on the PS1. Great graphics, a terrific soundtrack, great tracks, and overall excellent fun. Always highly recommended.

And, in case you are curious, the only Ridge Racer that tops this one is Ridge Racer on Sony's PSP which introduced the boost mechanic to the series and is a celebration of Ridge Racer up to that point containing tracks and locations from Ridge Racer (PS1), Ridge Racer Revolution (PS1), Rage Racer (PS1), Rave Racer (Arcade), R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 (PS1), and Ridge Racer V (PS2).

Ridge Racer Type 4

The game still hold up well in 2018. The graphic looks good if you have a CRT TV. The controls are spot on. R4 still has an amazing soundtrack especially the game theme. Worth the price!

R4: Ridge Racer Type - A Classic.

When it comes to the king of realistic racing games on PS1, Gran Turismo 2 is the king. But in terms of the casual pick up and play (arcade style) racing games on the PS1, it gets no better than R4. The music, graphics, gameplay, and game layout were top notch for its time. The intro sequence is legend, probably the best theme song for any racing game ever, IMO. I personally can not find any flaws with this game except for it being so short in the career mode. None of the games in the Ridge Racer series after this (for PS2, 360 and PS3) truly lived up to exceeding the 'ridge racer feeling' this game had. They all look pretty, but feel "flat". Bottom line, if you have a PS1 (or even a PS2 or backwords compatible PS3), like racing games, and dont mind 32 bit graphics...get this game.Lire l'avis complet...

One More Win, It's Ridge Racer (type4)

Simply put, one of the greatest arcade racing games ever. Ridge Racer Type4 brought a new word to the gamer lexicon, the CarPG. You are a driver for one of four teams (RC MicroMouseMappy, Pac Racing Company, RT Solvalu, and Dig Racing Team) attempting to tacking the Real Racing Roots '99 Grand Prix series. You have the choice of 4 very different Auto Mfgs. The Easy Age-Solo, the Balanced Terrazi, the Wild Assoluto, or the difficult to master Lizard (which eventually returned to the series as Danver). Combined all the MFGs and teams make for 320 cars (+1 secret car). 8 tracks doesn't seem like a lot these days, and even back in 1999 it wasn't a huge amount, but there is such detail to constantly be found that it doesn't matter. I guess the best way to put it is this, 11 years after the release of this game, Three Ridge Racers, and two consoles later, I still want to pop this in my PS3 and return to my Real Racing Roots as often as possible.Lire l'avis complet...

Joys of Ridge Racer

Played this game as a kid growing up and it is very fun. It is an arcade racer and it plays very well. The multiplayer is fun, the solo campaign is fun, and the music is killer. 10/10
