good product

Being an older guy with quite a collection of cassettes, I was frustrated after ordering replacement drive belts for a Sony dual cassette deck and after the installing them, the deck still didn't work. I understand and I use siriusXM and downloaded music on my iPhone routinely (I'm not stuck in the past) but Every time I sign up for a new app, I get bombarded with email and phone pop-ups because NOTHING IS FREE! the new app monitors and sells my every move. IRRITATING. So, with my cassette collection intact and the PYLE dual cassette recorder-player, I'm a happy man. The only reason for the GOOD rating and not EXCELLENT is because of the low quality of printing on the control panel - very basic design and printing - quite cheesy. HOWEVER, now I'm confused why PYLE isn't making a similar CD player. There has got to be a larger market for CD players than cassette decks. Bottom line? Thank you PYLE!!Lire l'avis complet...

not quite the tape deck of yesteryear, but close...

Works ok. I don't like the tinted windows into the cassette chambers -- too dark, can't see how much tape is left. The playback deck doesn't run the tape counter, only the record deck does. There's no headphone jacks. Lots of line noise when you're forwarding and rewinding. Doesn't have auto-reverse. The f-forward, rewind and play buttons all will pop-up again when the end of the tape is reached.

I just got this to digitize a bunch of cassette recordings I have. Probably won't ever record anything on it. Works great for that.

Save your money, buy a more expensive/better deck.

It works. That's about all the great I can say about it. Biggest grips is: Tapes I have that ran slower due to age and use are even more sluggish on this than my last, more expensive deck, making them unplayable. Personally not a fan of how cheaply the buttons feel when pressed, nor how oversized all the labeling is. Finally, ejecting: press eject, go make a sandwich, tape should be accessible when you get back, AKA horribly slow eject that you'll end up pulling open when you lose patience with it. I've had a few tapes that I know sounded fine on my old deck sound like mud as well. Still, out of a full drawer of tapes, about 10 of them, I'd say it had no issue playing 4 of them with normal sound, no slowdown, etc. So if your tapes aren't as old as you are (and you've bought most of them in the 70's to 80's), you may not have any issue. As for me, I'm glad I got this deck at a discount as I'd not have bothered with it otherwise. Lire l'avis complet...

Good deck except for the left side.

The only reason I gave it three stars was because the deck on the left sounds muffled. The sound quality is not good and this should not be happening with a brand new deck. The deck on the right is fine. It sounds great. Everything else with the deck is good. The problem with the left side is not enough for me to send it back. For my purposes, it's fine.Lire l'avis complet...

PylePro PT649D is Keeping Cassettes Alive!!!!

Back in the day before the digital world of CDs, Mp3 players, and Smartphones, there were very few ways to record any type of audio performance. The most popular way was the "Good Old Cassette Recorder". Rewind 30 years ago to the Rocking Hair Metal Band Era of the 80's: As a musician, I had recorded countless hours of live shows and practice sessions, only to be thrown in a cardboard box at the end of each session (some never even listened to). Eventually these little gems would be packed up and stored away, in cardboard boxes, as sunken treasures awaiting to be discovered one day. Well, after years of changing technology, band breakups, marriages, babies, and just life in general, these little chests of musical memories sunk even deeper into that forgotten world of "storage abyss". Now fast forward 30 years later: All digital world, an occasional performance here and there, still married, and kids grown, my life has finally slowed down. So one day, while cleaning out my storage area, I located a box labeled "Departure.1986". I was excited and curious to take a listen. After searching for an old workable cassette player to no avail (most had bad belts which is not good), I decided it was just time to purchase a new player. It did not take too long to find the PylePro PT649D Dual Cassette Deck. It was exactly what I needed! I am happily in the process of transferring all 65 cassettes to a digital format for me to once again enjoy. I now can reminisce, and share some pretty cool "Rock Star" stories with my kids!!! "I grew up in the 80's, I grew up on MTV"!!! Thankfully, Pyles Superior Product made this all possible. I strongly recommend this unit. Works Great, Sounds Great. It has outputs, when used with adapters, that are compatible with almost any Digital Recording Device (for transferring analog to digital). I also used the "Dual" recording function to consolidate "short tapes" and have it comfortably mounted in a rack mount unit in my home studio. Once again, Thank you Pyle for Keeping Cassettes Alive!!! ***Bart Coxx*** (Drummer and former "Rockstar" of the band DEPARTURE)....LOL.Lire l'avis complet...

Basic and good to go

This is a nice beginners' or modest tape player that does the job nicely. Easy set up and use. The actual tape player I received does not look like the one shown in the photo; mines is all black. Fit and finish could be a little better. The closed cassette doors don't quite line up with the body of the tape player. But it plays my old tapes well, so.....Lire l'avis complet...

Only New One I Could Find

Not a bad product. We'll see how long it lasts. The controls are a bit clunky. I wanted a dual cassette deck with auto reverse, auto sync, dubbing and recording but this is the only new product I could find. Hopefully some manufacturers will come back to this niche market as some are returning to vinyl LP's now.Lire l'avis complet...

Good cassette deck

Easy to install. Easy to use. Good basic machine . Push knobs are a little stiff.
I will see if it is durable Replaces my old machine that could not be repaired.
Is probably better than all the old decks for sale on internet.Lire l'avis complet...

Piece of crap.

Right rear stabilizer leg crumbled as soon as I placed it on its platform. 4 pieces of PLASTIC then fell on the floor with some GOOHY substance not even dried from whomever made a repair. I have a $ 300.00 turntable and a 100 W per Channel Amp. The LP's brand new, recorded to cassette sound like Edisions wax 1902 ?Lire l'avis complet...

Double cassette player

When I took the tape player out of the box, the tape deck door fell off. And it did NOT bring the cords for it to being hooked up. Besides that it was very well packaged. Hopefully eBay can give me a credit for missing cablesLire l'avis complet...
