PGR 3 is a great game but needs some fine tuning...

I have played all the PGR games and enjoyed them alot. Each game seems to be better than the last and PGR 3 is an improvement, but only a little better than PGR 2. The main thing that makes it an improvement over the last, is the awesome inside camera view. I highly recommend you use this view even though it may seem more difficult at first. The full interior of the cars are recreated down to the last detail, even the windshield has dirt and reflections of your surroundings and realistic lighting shining through. You can even look out the windows while in the car. You really get the sense that you are driving these incredible machines and you can "feel" the responsiveness of them as the tires grip the road. It simply captures this feeling better than any racer before it and that's what I look for in my racing sims. If you want an arcade racing experience I suggest you stick to a game like Burnout. The online play is good and has a solid framerate with no lag that i noticed, you can also create your own routes and play them online. It's the people Online that either make or break the experience because some people drive backwards or try to just run you off the road and they ruin the race for the others. Fortunately you can Kick these people out. These players should be playing Full Auto and stay away from a serious racer like PGR. The Graphics are very good but some of the road textures are not done as well as they should have been. Overall though the graphics are very good. The sound is good too but doesn't stand out as any better than most other racers. My biggest gripe about the game is the way you progress through the career mode. You are forced to complete the races in the order the designers intended. This should be left up to the user and should be changed in PGR 4. So if you like Cone Challenges, Timed Runs or Speed Traps the best you can choose those but if you just want to race you can go that route and still be rewarded. Overall PGR 3 gets an 8.5 of 10.Lire l'avis complet...

Project Gotham Racing 3

The game scores 88% on Game Rankings based on 92 reviews. The game scored 88% on Metacritic based on 74 reviews (based on 94 votes from metacritic.com users, Project Gotham Racing scored 8.2 out of 10). The game also scored 92% from Xbox World 360, with it being one of the only 13 to be rated above 90%.

PGR3 allows multiplayer offline with up to two players on one Xbox 360 console or more players via System Link. PGR3 offers online integrated scoreboards for single player career events as well as Time Trials and test track times.

Gamers with Xbox Live Gold are able to race with up to seven other competitors in races online. Online career (ranked) and playtime (unranked) are both offered as online multiplayer modes. Scoreboards also track standings for online career.

PGR3 also allows for online tournaments, the first of which was the PGR3 Global Tournament, won by a Swedish player.

PGR3 features 80 licensed cars from over 30 manufacturers such as Ferrari, Dodge and Lamborghini.

In PGR2 the car models were made of 10,000 polygons, but with the next generation hardware's power Bizarre's modelers have been able to put as many as 105,000 polygons worth of detail into the cars, although it was initially stated that most cars comprise of 80,000- with 40,000 of those being spent on the exterior and the remaining 40,000 on the interior, Bizarre issued a statement of apology stating that the average polygons per car is actually closer to 45,000.[1] The increased polygon count allows for smoother, less jagged-shaped cars than in earlier games. Of the 80 cars in the game, 71 are unlocked and available for play at the start of a new game, while the remaining 9 (prototypes, one-offs, and concept) cars are left for the player to unlock.

In a change from the previous two games, PGR3 emphasizes supercars and special models instead of generic production cars (Cars with a top speed of over 170MPH). One of the starter cars is the Acura NSX. While there are production cars in PGR3, PGR2 emphasized common vehicles such as the Ford Focus[disambiguation needed]. However, the BMW Mini is available via download content.

Porsche, available in the first two games, has been omitted from this game in favor of RUF.

Continuing a legacy

PGR3 continues on with the series in a great way. It still has all those things from the first two taht made it great and then improved upon that. The game is a good length a variety of different types of races to complete. The graphics look amazing and flows perfectly. This game has me playing for hours trying to get more cars and more achievement points. There are only a few draw backs that I have with it. The selection of cars are mostly super cars. Yes I would love to own some of those, but some of the time I would like to be able to use things like a Mazda RX-7 or something not as expensive and fancy. The downloadable style packs help with that a little. Also the music is pretty good. A wide selection of stations to pick from, but for my taste there was only really two stations that I liked, which meant the same songs a lot. But there is always the custom soundtrack to rescue this. Overall this is a very enjoyable game and I would recomend it to any racing fan.Lire l'avis complet...

It's Extremely Addicting! Give it a try.

This game is an excellent game. At the beginning of the game you start with 85,000 credits which you can buy some good cars (some of the cars you can buy are actually some of the best cars.) After you buy a car you will start racing. Sometimes the game will get linear offline because all you really do is just race.

There are barely any cars 80 cars is not enough! It is relatively easy to get the best car which is the Ferrari F50 GT. The game's graphics are amazing and gorgeous. The graphics are not the only thing that is realistic the way the cars react is realistic, such as applying to much pressure on the throttle will make spin out of control but if you use the brakes you can easily get out of a situation that can get really messy. This is not as good as Gran Turismo, but it is still one the greatest racers ever.

If you like the other PGR games, pick this up too.

I owned the original Project Gotham Racing on Xbox before owning this game. The basic idea hasn't changed much. It's still a great racing game with a lot of cool cars to choose from, good graphics, and some gameplay modes not found in a lot of racing games. I also find it refreshing to start the career with a nice car. Unlike some games where you have a Cavalier or Focus to start with, you can get cars like the Atom or NSX right off the bat.

+Great for any racing fan.
+Many exotic cars.
+Multiplayer modes.
+Clean graphics.
+Usually available cheap on eBay!

-If you didn't like the other PGR games, this one prob won't change your mind.

classic game

A clasic game that doesn't dissapoint. Once you get the hang of the controls (easy to do) nothing will beat the feeling of power sliding through 90 degree turns at full speed. Sometime I wish that the cars would take more realistic damage, but honestly, the slightest touch on these cars at the speeds they drive at would completely destroy one in real life. That wouldn't be very fun.

I also like the fact that the single player race requirements vary depending on which car you choose. This allows you to play the entire game with which ever car is your favorite, and not have to alway get the fastest car (driving faster car means your competition drives faster cars too).

Best race car game ever!

I have played Forza, Gran Turismo, and the first two Project Gothams. This is the best ever. Love the handling, car varieties, tracks, and the graphics of weather (clouds, sky, sun) are amazing. This is the first game I played where you can get inside the car, look to left or right, look at side view mirrors / rear view, or get outside the car and look from bumper / grill view. You can also save your games and watch the replay from multiple views or cars.Lire l'avis complet...

Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360)

I bought this game because this game looked amazing on my HDTV, some of the best graphics in a racing game ive seen. The cars in this game are so accurate and they are so sexy. Theres a photo mode where u can take pictures of your cars while racing/ in your garage and with these pictures you can go to www.projectgothamracing3.com and upload your pictures and save them to your computer, its really cool. I also liked how easy it was to get money so you can buy a lot of cars and get a big colllection. I liked how short the races were and how many there were. I didnt like the platinum difficulty, which is the hardest, it was way to hard, almost impossible for me.Lire l'avis complet...
