Fun Pokémon Console RPG with Great Animations

Though the catching system tries something innovative and falls a little short, Pokémon Coliseum is still a must have for Pokemon fans with Gamecubes, and is bolstered by its graphics, different storyline (and a cool new perspective as an anti-heroish guy, not a 10 year old collecting badges), quirky bosses, and GBA-Gamecube connectivity which allows you to obtain several rare and even event only Pokémon from this game in your GBA titles. Some may find battling repetitive, but I found it engaging, especially thanks to the great soundtrack in this game. Great Game

This is not your average Pokemon title. From the get-go you will find out that this game is a look into the darker, more mature side of Pokemon. This doesn't mean the game is bad for your kids. They will likely enjoy it; but I'm just warning that the game is very challenging! You begin the game playing as a tough-looking vandal trainer with a pollutive motor bike that could fall an entire forest of trees. He soon meets a girl who can see shadow Pokemon, and so the story unfolds. Your goal in this game is to catch, purify and train each shadow Pokemon as you battle to thwart the nasty plots of evil organizations. This game has several amazing 3D areas to explore and impressive battle graphics. You can also link up your GameBoy Advance to trade or battle Pokemon in Colosseum. The only things I really don't like about this game is the frustrating challenge level and that the action can get a little ripetitive at times. However, I really enjoyed this game much more than its sequel, "XD". The Pokemon you can catch are rarer and more coveted, and the mature twist makes the game more immersive. The game is really fun and enjoyable, especially if you are a hardcore Pokemon fan.

Fairly fun: Great for diehard Pokemon fans.

My primary purpose for purchasing this particular game was to get the bonus disc in order to obtain Jirachi. However, the seller I purchased it from was offering both the game and bonus disc for the same price most sellers were selling the bonus disc alone for.

Of cousre, I got what I wanted (the Jirachi) but I also decided to try out the gameplay as well. I enjoy that you actuallly get to play as a quasi villain, and the storyline is a bit more unique nd darker from others in the Pokemon series, which is typically bubble gummy and light hearted. All in all though, the gameplay did get a little boring, and the inability to capture pokemon aside from using the snagging device became frustrating very quickly. All in all, the story felt a little cheesy, and I grew bored/tired of the storyline fairly quickly.

All in all, as far as games go in the Poemon series, this is decent, and for the price of both the game and the bonus disc, I feel like it was a good deal. I don't regret purchasing the game, and all in all, in the long run, it still has that classic Pokemon feel to it that so many have grown to love.Lire l'avis complet...

Hooray for Pokemon!

Some say that Pokemon has gone out of style. That may be true, but this does not mean the games are not fun anymore. This is a great game because you can finally play the RPG aspect of Pokemon on the big screen (your TV), instead of just battling them or takeing pictures.
Sure, the plot is a little cheezy, but if you're like me and can make a joke out of it and still get into it, then this is your game! Certainly, this game is not for everyone, but many can find it enjoyable.
The only problem I had with the game was the fact that you could not choose which Pokemon you catch. And, you only have one opportunity to catch certain Pokemon you run into (that is, unless you reset the game in a furious rage).
Overall, if you are a Pokemon fan and not afraid to admit it, then this is your game. Everyone else might want to pass this one up.Lire l'avis complet...

good game for the collectors of yesterday

you play the part of a shady character who, as far as i know has a serious criminal record. the motorbike seems all engine, which i thought was a nice alternative to the "wimpy" scooter you get XD. trading pokemon from frered-leafgreen-ruby-sapphire is still a lengthly proses, hope you have time.
DO NOT TRADE FROM EMERALD, as this game seems to have behavioral issues when used with Colosseum. I've found that XD is a major asset when Colosseum is already owned. all three original legendary dog pokemon -entie, suicune, rakio are catchable in this game as well as ho-oh. a valuable addition to any pokemon fanatics collection.
AND YES! THE GAMEBOY ADVANCE SP IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE GAMECUBE, with the regular

Bonus disc

What I bought is the bonus disc that was included as a pre-order gift for Pokemon Colosseum for Nintendo Gamecube.The main reason to buy this disc is the reason why I did. This bonus disc allows the download of the rare pokemon Jirachi. you can get as many jirachi as your have Ruby and/or sapphire game cartridges(more than that by simply starting a new game on said cartridges). the disc also features previews of the pokemon Colosseum game and the Jirachi movie, although these features aren't that great.

So if you really want a Jirachi than this is the disc to buy, however don't buy this expecting an actual game as it is a bonus disc.

The game itself which isn't what I bought, but I own it. while not for everyone, the game is a fun time for pokemon fans. It has a deeper storyline than the pokemon games for the wii or nintendo 64 if any of you are familiar with those. as you actually capture pokemon and walk around, rather than just battling non-stop.Lire l'avis complet...

Pokemon Colloseum

I bought a Pokemon Colloseum video game for the gamecube for my 2 sons about 6 days back.
I decided to place a bid on it because it was 50 percent cheaper then market price
and my sons are really into Pokemon. My sons really liked this game but it takes a lot of blocks from the memory card. This game features a decent story mode which is supposed to be like the 3d Pokemon advance series. It also has a duel mode where you can fight with other computer Pokemon trainers or upload your Pokemon from your Pokemon Sapphire or Pokemon Ruby on the Gameboy Advance using a link cable . Great for Pokemon fans.

This game is a lot of fun for Pokemon fans. If you are not a Pokemon fan, then I would not recommend playing this game. The story line is an interesting twist on the Pokemon world. Instead of trying to fill your Pokedex, you are trying to rescue Shadow Pokemon (Pokemon who have had the doors to their hearts shut by an evil organization). These Pokemon are supposed to be "battling machines." While it is a different take on Pokemon, I enjoyed the game, and watching battles on the big screen was neat too. However, there is a lot missing from the game that may turn away the "hardcore" fans. The lack of the Pokedex, and not all Pokemon are catchable on the game for instance. Overall, it is an entertaining addition the Pokemon library.

Must have for die hard Pokemon Trainers trying to catch them all

This is not a game! It is a bonus disc with bonus material to promote the release of Pokemon Colosseum and a Pokemon movie. HOWEVER, it also includes "unlimited" Jirachi's for die hard Pokemon Collectors. This is the only way to get a LEGITIMATE Jirachi in the US. It requires you to have a GBA or GB SP and a copy of Ruby or Sapphire to receive the Jirachi. If you want to complete you Pokedex legitimately - you need this bonus disc.

One of the best games i ever purchased!

I so upset when i purchased a gamecube and went to play my game i have owned forever (pokemon Coliseum) and could not play it bc it would not work. All of my other games worked fine so it was obviously not the system. To make a long short, after searching and searching i finally found a copy on Ebay! I was kind of skeptical at, but when i inserted the game into my gamecube and it came i could nothing but smile. Not only was i able to get one of the best games i have ever played on gamecube but i also purchased it a really good price! I am super excited to say the least.Lire l'avis complet...
