So, so disappointed with this one. Everywhere I read reviews, it was claimed that it was good campy fun, and to be honest, it was. So why was I expecting more? I dunno, I guess I just was. I mean, this was a good enough film. It was full of blood and guts (but NOT that much nudity - topless woman count = 6, yes I counted) and I did watch the non 3D version, so maybe that was it, although missing out on the 3D vomit was probably a good thing.

A lot of the movie made no sense at all, and the first two thirds of the film is to be honest a little boring, but once the fish hit the spring breakers, THEN it picks up no end. Be warned, this movie is VERY bloody (although not as gory as you would imagine) and is worth a look, but just don't expect too much (like me - damn me and my high expectations!!!)Lire l'avis complet...

SFX Gone Wild! Yeah..

Ok well basically, this is how it goes for me. I purchased this DVD Assuming it was going to be absolutely terrible. When I finally received it, it turned out it wasn't that bad. It is clearly a horror film, seeing these fish pick people apart is well uhm..interesting. The Film-makers went into some detail regarding how it looks when flesh is stripped from bone. As far as the acting in the film, eh, it was so-so, not terrible, but not exactly good either, basically what you would typically expect from a mid-grade movie. Would I recommend the movie as a rental? Yes. For a laugh, but do not watch it with kids in any capacity, I know these days we let our children get away with a lot, but this is one of those cases where I do not advise letting them watch it, even with supervision.Lire l'avis complet...

Best viewed when drunk...

I watched Piranha for the first time a few nights ago on cable. I remember seeing the trailer and thinking, "I will catch this one when it hits HBO." Piranha in my opinion is meant for the teenage, early 20s viewer.. (i.e. wet t-shirt contest, parties on the lake, and more but I would spoil the film). If you are looking for something classic like the Jaws collective, Piranha isnt it. I cant say this film is scary, nor thrilling..especially when the fish are CGI. There is a bit of blood and gore that kept me from falling completely asleep.Lire l'avis complet...
