Magic thing!
I'm not a scientist, so I don't know how true those things they write about this alarm. But what I can say from my experience - waking up was never so easy as it was for me and my wife for last two weeks, when we got this sunrise alarm!
The main goal - waking you up gently - is achieved for 100%.
Maybe it's personal thing, but it works for me great. Will see, how will it work over the winter... So far I easily waking up at 6:30am 16 days in a row, even over the weekend
And as to the design, it's perfect - very easy to operate, I will never need a manual. Two different alarms, if you and your spouse have different schedule, very nice melodies.

This thing really works
I have had issues with acting out my dreams, thrashing around, and tearing up the bed etc.
I had learned to live with it but this lamp put an end to all that the very first night and I haven't had an incident since! I still can hardly believe it. I don't know what it is that put an end to my condition but I have to credit this lamp for it. I use the sunset feature to fall asleep and it knocks me out every time. Even my dog konks out watching it. I feel more calm and better rested and I usually sleep right through the night without moving around much at all. I would have to call it a miracle cure for me. It isn't cheap but I would say it's worth every penny. It's simple to adjust and set up and it is just a very appealing light, and watching it lighten to daylight or fade to dusk is very relaxing. And the variety of wake-up sounds are all very pleasant as well. I did not really expect the immediate results I have seen but I wish I had bought one of these long ago. I have been plagued with that sleep condition for many years and now it seems to simply be gone just from using this lamp. I find that pretty amazing. Good balance of features and value
This is the middle model of Phillips Wake-up lights, and I'm happy with it. Beautiful range of light color and intensity. I enjoy the mix of tactile and 'soft' buttons. Easy wake up light clock.
This is a great alarm clock. It is easy to use and the instruction are clear and concise. The slow increase in light intensity over 30 minutes makes for a very pleasant morning experience. I now wake up calmly and slowly and ready for the day instead of being jarred out of bed by a loud alarm. The light quality and the gradient from low intensity to bright is great. It really works! Well worth it!
Absolutely wonderful! This light has helped my morning routine start off much more easily. Contrary to some reviews I've seen, I don't find it complicated to use, or have difficulty pressing the button I want. After plugging it in, I spent just a few minutes with the manual, and had it set exactly how I wanted it. I use it only as a light, not for the alarm sounds (I found them to be too relaxing, they make me feel sleepy instead of more awake).
The gradual brightening primes me to wake up as the time for my alarm approaches. And when my phone alarm starts playing music, my sleepy brain thinks the sun is shining in, even when it's still dark out. I'm able to wake up before the sun and get moving much more easily than I ever have!
There are two potential issues (neither of which outweigh the benefits for me). 1 - The LEDs give a little bit of "motion flicker," not a lot but enough to be noticeable. When this is the only source of light in a room, movement looks a bit staccato. 2 - There is no battery backup, so alarms, etc have to be reset in the event of a power loss.
Overall, this lamp is one of the best purchases I've ever made! I was skeptical of the claims of easier wake ups, but it's exactly as good as advertised.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent quality product!
The sunrise and sunset features out perform any other lamp I've tried. The sound features are very realistic as is the light. This is not a lamp that just looks like a lamp with a regular lightbulb. Interesting concept, but not sure it's for everybody.
The concept is good but there are some flaws if you plan on using it as your daily alarm. First of all, this lamp lacks many features you can find in much cheaper products. There is no back-up battery. You can't schedule alarms for weekdays only. You can't connect an external audio source to it.
The various buttons and controls are placed on top and on each side of the lamp making it a bit difficult to figure out. It's not very intuitive and I have found it a bit frustrating to use.
It is a good quality product that is nicely put together. It gives you the feeling it will last a while.
Buy this lamp primarily for the "sunset/sunrise" effect otherwise you may be disappointed. We've been experimenting with the various timers to see if we can get an optimal schedule for our needs.
I can see this as being very useful to some folks and a complete waste of money to others. I am not entirely sold on the concept but willing to give it more time. I don't mind waking up to the light, however I am a really sound sleeper and it has failed to wake me up on a couple of occasions. At least there is an audio alarm option with nature sounds, and my dog always wakes up as soon as the light comes on.
My smartphone did a better job as an alarm clock but I was looking for something to help me sleep better so that's why I am willing to put up with its shortcomings.

Well worth the price
This light works well, it's easy to set and easy to use. I love it! I had a different wake-up light for several years, which I bought because it was cheaper (I can't remember the brand name). That one was a bit of a pain to navigate and use. I resisted buying the Phillips for a long time because of the price. But now, I wish I had bought this one years ago!Lire l'avis complet...

Waking up is a lot easier
The feature I bought it for works wonders - the light slowly getting brighter in the morning really does make it easier to get up in the dead of winter.

Best way to wake up
This wake-up light is one of the best purchases my wife and I have ever made. It gently starts as a warm red light that gradually increases and shifts into daylight over a pre-determined time (default is 30 minutes, we have it at 20 minutes) so by the time you have the actual alarm set, the whole room is lit up like it is daytime!
No more abrupt alarms that wakes you in a shock, this light lets you wake up in a very serene and peaceful way. I actually wake up before the alarm starts (which is 5 different choices of bird song, ocean waves, forest with gentle music, FM/AM radio and one more that I can't remember), thanks to the light which feels like sunlight starts hitting your face.
It is completely customizable and you can set the intensity of light, duration of the "sunrise", volume of the audio alarm. The clock is dimmable (although it cannot be turned off completely), but the lowest setting is so faint you can barely see it.
