Camera quality

I bougth this camera a month ago. I am very satisfied with this buy. It is an used camera, but it's in excellent condition. Looks like new. Like other Lumix Camera it has an awesome picture quality. The 5 megapixels CCD and the aspherics lens took excellent pictures. The only negative point it that in landscape mode, daylight or night, the autofocus often doesn't well focus the pictures.

My general impression is that i have made an excellent buy.

Thanks for reading,

Jose

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 - review

The camera is very easy to use with simple controls for various conditions. The antishake function is great and one can get near perfect pictures always. The photo quality is awsome, even with the zoom at full. I was looking for a camera that I could carry in my shirt pocked that had zoom and micro capability as well as good resolution photos - I was not disappointed here. Even though the camera only uses two AA batteries - I can get a lot of flash photos out of a set of the digital rechargables. This is a plus also. A lot of camera for the buck - hard to beat.

The only downside I have found with the camera is that it has no optical viewer. You have to rely on the LCD screen to line up your subject. It is somewhat of a problem for me as I have trouble seeing the viewer at times and especially in our very harsh Arizona sunshine.

Good camera for use with standard batteries

Camera works fine with true colors and large zoom (ca. 37-222 mm), lens with good luminous intensity, good for fotos with little light. Also movies with sound recording are possible. You can use multimedia- and sd-cards (up to 1 GB) in this camera. Fotos are regularly sharp except using full zoom without tripod. Camera lies good in my hand because it is not so very small as many newer ones. It works with two normal batteries which are everywhere in the world available. The camera has a 2 inch diameter display which is complete sufficient to view your fotos and will save battery power.Lire l'avis complet...

Best Buy

This is an excellent bang for the buck camera. Of course the LZ3 took its place now, which is also an excellent camera. Unless you need or desire full manual controls and you don't have much to spend, then this camera is the one for you. Superb image quality, super accurate color reproductions, excellent macro mode, top of the line lens/glass, image stabilization, 6x zoom, compact, and I could go on. If you find you have any noise problems set the image type to "Natural" in the menu, this will remove a majority of it.Lire l'avis complet...

Panasonic Lumix is a great camera

I bought this camera because I had seen a write up where it was reviewed favorably. I have been using it quite a bit and found out that I think it is a great camera too.

First of all, the functionality on it is great. It is very user friendly and simple to work. Some of the cameras on the market now have lots of buttons with lots of different features that require a lot of fiddling with to get it to work the way you want it. This camera is loaded with features, but is very user friendly and easy to use.

I enjoy many of the features, but have really enjoyed the multiple shot feature. You can program the camera, at the push of a button, to take more than one shot at a time. My favorite setting on this is the unlimited pictures. You just press the button down and hold it until you're done taking pictures. It continues to take photos until the memory is filled or your batteries die. I took some pictures of friends kayaking on a rapid. It took thirty frames of each of them going through this rapid. It was cool to see, on review, them moving through the rapid a foot at a time. I was amazed that I could get some many photos of each of them in a matter of just a couple of seconds. Of course this setting doesn't work with the flash. So, while it is really cool and I totally like it, it has some limitations.

The zoom on this camera is composed of two different facets. The zoom consists of a lens zoom of 6x and a digital zoom of 4x. If you zoom in more than the 6x then the picture doesn't come out as well. Overall, this is a good feature and seems to take great pictures at different ranges. I have not used the macro setting yet though.

I really like the ability to plug it into a tv to review the photos taken. The quality isn't as great, but the idea of just taking a quick look seems to work out well. The usb interface works fine.

The battery life is exceptional.

I think this is a great camera and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good versatile camera.

Great Camera except for bright daylight shooting

I have owned this model for 2 years and just bought another on ebay. I would agree with all the positive reviews in this forum except that the camera is hard to use in bright sunlight as the screen in not bright enough and there is no viewfinder. I ended up buying a 3rd party screen shade that glues on the screen and folds up when not in use. I love the 6x times zoom and the camera is still compact enough you can carry it in a pocket which will you find will inspire you to take many more pictures as you can whip it out and shoot at a seconds notice.Lire l'avis complet...

IDEAL eBay Camera & GREAT Travel P&S DIG P&S for MOST!!

I am rating this PANASONIC DMC-LZ2 DIGITAL CAMERA as a novice photographer, though I have been a working Pro for 25 years! I say this because I would have never considered buying such a low MP DIGITAL P&S Camera for my average type of shooting, which is Wildlife & Nature Photography worldwide. Besides my Pro Nikon D300 D700 DSLR Outfit, I also own two newer Panasonic Lumix cameras for quick scenics, while carrying my heavy DSLR & Telephoto & don't feel like changing lenses for one pic! These two are the 10MP FZ-28 with 18X Optics (Leica lens), RAW, VR, Flash & 1:1 Macro capable. The 2nd is the more compact 10MP 16:9, RAW, Wide-Angle (26mm to 3X) very compact model, with flash model. However, I purchased this camera for $35 used on eBay, to replace my old eBay camera, a 4GB Olumpus, that performed great for over 10 years!

However, when it arrived, I fell in l;ove with it. I runs on two AA batteries, which is a BIG PLUS! My others use Propriatory Panasonic batteries, which are nice, but if you lose one?!? This tiny camera has a 6X Optical Zoom & a Leica DC VARIO f2.7 to f4.5 lens, with VR, a good flash, & shoots 1:1 Macro to boot! What can I say, it is a wonderful camera that fits in your shirt pocket & shoots GREAT IMAGES! I got a screaming deal, as it turns out!!

Whole Lotta Bang for Your Buck!!!

This is the perfect camera! It's small enough to fit easily into a purse or even a pocket (my husband frequently ends up carrying it in his cargo shorts pocket), but still feels substantial when the user is holding/operating it. The shape of it makes it feel very secure in your hand as well.

This camera is loaded with many features that will help enhance your photography, but it's simple enough to just pick up and start clicking and (I swear!) it has never taken a bad picture! I was amazed by some nature shots I took using the macro setting, the high-speed soccer pictures in Sports mode, and you can never go wrong with the general "everyday" setting.

My favorite feature by far, though, is the continuous picture shooting mode. With just the push of a button (no need to go searching in various menu screens), you can take several pictures at once (I think it's 3 per second?), which is WONDERFUL for kids or group photos. You'll never have that one person with their eyes closed again! It also makes for very cool action shots (picture kids jumping into a pool: going...going...gone!).

The battery life is also incredible; several family members who use their cameras much less than I do have to change batteries about twice as often! I also love the fact that I can review my photos without the lens opening... this is something I have always found annoying in other cameras - why does the entire lens need to expand when all I want to do is review a picture quickly?

I cannot say enough positive things about this camera! The only negative (I had to think hard) is that the screen is hard to see in bright sun settings - there is no viewfinder, so you end up guessing/hoping your subject is in the frame. Other than that, this has been the best camera I've ever used! You will love it! :)

Excellent Overall Camera!

I bought this camera new from CompUSA for $160 (on sale) and haven't found a better price for a 5.0 MP camera with 6x optical zoom yet.

The Macro mode takes good close-ups of flowers and people. The large viewscreen gives a good image of what you are photographing. Colors are great, though low-light situations may need some touching up with software (like most other cameras).

It uses 2 AA batteries, has an SD card slot, and a fairly straightforward menu (not as easy as Kodak, but still good).

For the money, I doubt you can beat this camera!
