just love this camera....
I have just replaced a very hammmered and abused body with a new one I find with the Live viewfinder on top it just the most wonderfully user friendly camera to operate ( and this is an ex- pro used to the very bare basic Nikon Fe's Fms F4s etc and Lieca M7's M9's and M240's). Could only be improved with a physical shutter speed dial on the top for me as i am mostly in Manual mode,,, but what a chip and what brilliant responce.. no lag at all for such a basic camera, and feels incredibly solid.. and the range of lenses from both Lumix and Olympus are phenominal in quality and range. .... and what I love the most... I always jut pick it up and take it with me. its never a burden, its never "extra wieght I could do without!" like some lunking SLR or M240.
I have taken grab shots of the texture of bark and blown them up to 6 foot by 4 foot prints and wondered if maybe I should take them bigger, the quality of image is mind boggling.
So why 4 stars and not 5?!
Certain hot pinks in nature.. roses and bouganvillea seem to confuse the sensor and you loose detail and also the buttons on the back are easily accidentally tripped at first by big clumsy fingers leading you into some programme you never expected and worse... in a panic, not knowing how to leave!
But with time and experience this is less frequent and rectifying i easier to deal with.
With the Live viewfinder attachment I would recomend this body to anyone.Lire l'avis complet...

10 years old and still going strong
I got this one used and I love it. I put the pana 14mm f/2.5 on it which makes it the perfect pocket camera. I think this camera came out in 2012. 10 years old and still going strong. I love it. Screen is a little hard to see in bright sun, but other than that it is a great pocket camera. For the used price, you can't go wrong. Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent camera and terrific value.
For a mirrorless camera, the GX-1 has delivered excellent results for me. The micro 4/3 ecosystem is very flexible, with lots of choice in terms of both modern and legacy lenses. The features of this very portable camera are excellent at its current market price.
The downsides: this unit doesn't have focus peaking, which I would like for legacy lens use. It's digital magnification assisted focusing aid is good, but I think the additional SONY like focus peaking capability would be icing on the cake. It also lacks a built-in digital viewfinder, though the pricy accessory has been positively reviewed. I'm using an optical viewfinder as necessary AND also have a magnetically attached LCD shroud/viewfinder ($10) for bright sunny days.
Build quality, battery life, ease of operation...they are all excellent for this size camera.
I bought mine lightly used (store display model, I think) and in very good condition for $96 in mid-2015. Hard to beat this deal by any measure.Lire l'avis complet...
Small with good features
This is my first digital camera and I bought it because of reviews I read online. So far it has lived up to those reviews, which thought it would be a good small camera to start with..
