Panasonic DP-UB820 vs DP-UB9000

Purchased the DP-UB820 to replace my aging DMP-BDT500 player. Everything I read, and vids that I viewed stated that watching Blu-rays was pretty much the same with either the DP-UB820 vs the much more expensive DP-UB9000 player. Well, I was not impressed with the picture sharpness of the DP-UB820. Was soft compared to my older DMP-BDT500.

So I purchased the DP-UB9000. Yes, it's a crazy amount of money, but the disc performance is NOT the same as the UB820 at all. In fact, I am amazed how good the UB9000 performs. Great player, very poor users manual

seems to be a great player. Good sound and picture. My issue was the poor quality users guide. I will admit that I am not technology savvy but I had to go online to find out how to set up wifi and how to link tv on/off with the remote. Worth the upgrade!

I got the DP-UB820 to replace my older Samsung K8500 4K player, and the difference is stunning! The Panasonic has given new life to my 4K Blu-ray collection. Not as good as UB9000P1K.

The UB820 does offer improved picture quality over both of Sony's bluray players. The audio is notably weak over HDMI and sounds better out of the rca jacks. I'd say the 800xm2's audio is better using HDMI. The drive is noisy and the remote is fairly wonky. The 820 makes a case for itself if you aren't looking to spend too much and you are using the tv's speakers or a sound bar.

If you are looking for the best in audio and video performance, the UB9000P1K definitely is superior to the 820. Those with projectors or dedicated audio systems will greatly benefit from the 9000.

In short the 820 is pretty good whereas the 9000 is like WOW! Look at that! Even the home menu looks better on the 9000.

Panasonic 4k player.

The reviews on this compared it to the oppo player, and it was alot cheaper. The quality is awsume. The features are excellent. So far very pleased with purchase of this 4k player.

For the perfect blend of everything that matters I think this is the best pick ever. I could have gone the next step and bought the 9000 but why?
