A brilliantly capable machine for on-air recording or media tranfer.

We left cable some time ago, and operate from an antenna an broadcast programming. Since the shift to digital broadcast, older recorders with analog tuning are useless for capturing broadcast material. This unit, which has a digital tuner, provides this capability. Also, it feeds into the home theater function of my Panasonic TV, and allows splendid stereo sound from broadcast on my Klipsch speakers. I also have quite a collection of Laserdisc films, and this unit allows easy recording from Laserdisc to DVD (as well as VHS tape).

It easily processes DVD recorded media into a format playable n any DVD machine.

I am unable to provide any quibbling criticisms of this unit, as I have so far found NONE.Lire l'avis complet...

Quite satisfied

Excellent, reliable product!

I had another Panasonic that I used for the same purpose. Works great even after 8+ years of pretty substantial use. Same reason I went and bought another Panasonic, because I know they're well built and reliable. Even when it "freezes" momentarily (again, after 8+ years of work), just unplugging it and restarting usually solves the problem for quite some time. Lire l'avis complet...

Can't go wrong with this recorder!

This is truly an excellent DVD recorder for the purposes of transferring VHS to DVD. It also plays both VHS cassettes and DVDs with excellent clarity. I purchased this as a second machine to one that I already have. It's a shame that Panasonic chose to discontinue the manufacture of this recorder. There are many of us out there with tons of VHS cassettes that, not only do we want tobe able to transfer to DVD, but also be able to play the VHS cassettes themselves, in addition to being able to play DVDs.Lire l'avis complet...

The transit was a bit rough -- but the unit works fine.

Quality VHS video recorder!

This is a top quality video recorder with good playback function. My only gripe is that it turns off automatically after 3 hours which disrupts my television viewing for about 30 seconds.
