DO THE UPDATE, period. An update came out for a reason... do it. The process starts automatically the 1st time you plug it in, follow the step by step instructions on screen. It took less than 10 minutes. It loada new apps and corrects the buffering problems with older versions of the internet apps.
It came in perfect condition. The manufacturer claims, 0.5 second load time this is how long after power up it begins to load. Which is an improvement from my previous (still working) Panasonic Blu-Ray. If you have a Blu Ray disc with extra features and internet downloads needed to enable those features... think about it, there is no way it will load all that in 1/2 second. There is a significant improvement over the older models, but don't expect to be watching in 1/2 second. If you are watching a standard Blu-Ray with no online access needed, it is quick. The Netflix and other online apps work great no delays or buffering problems.
Picture quality and sound are as to be expected with Blu-Ray, flawless. Do NOT expect an improvement over standard DVD if you use the Red, White and Yellow cable. Use a HDMI cable. Think of it like trying to fill your gas tank with a drinking straw sized hose... there is only so much that can pass through at a time. Great item and great price for all you get

This is a great player had one for a year until a lightening strike took out my modem, router and computer that were all tied in on my home net along with the player. The player still played DVD's and Blue ray disks but would not connect to the net. Knowing how great that one worked I bought another. This new one has the same great picture and connection to the net as the original one. I watch a lot of net flix and amazone prime movies. Not too old, not too new.

Perfect blu ray player if you just want to play blu rays and DVDs. 2010 model does not have S-Video connection or Netflix. Also, most Panasonic remotes will work with most models. For newer models with Netflix you can find a remote that doesn't have the Netflix button right in the middle so you won't hit it by mistake.Lire l'avis complet...

GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY!

I have been looking at purchasing a Blueray player for many months. So much to choose from and so many features. I was wanting a unit that was simple and gave me great picture and sound. I am very happy with this unit. I am not real tech savy so it was a great choice for me.

Very good for internet watching sensitive with scratched CD's.

I like this device and I'm Really enjoy washing the movie from internet (Netflex and Youtube)and that what i'm doing every day.
But the problem is this device is very sensitive with scratched CD's. If you have small scratch in you DVD it will hung and wont work easy.

i love my blu ray player , just what i was looking for and more, what i mean by more is , netflex, and other nice thing it comes with , i am pleased, in every way , well thats it .
