We have white dishes, after washing we started having rust spots on them. So I went off in search of a new rack. After seeing the prices of some of them I searched for something a little cheaper. A new rack set costs almost what a new dishwasher costs. If your racks aren’t completely rusted I think this is the way to go. I used a dremel to grind off the rust spots then applied 3 light coats of this allowing it to dry in between coats. We have only ran 2 washes so far but it appears to have held up. I made sure it went on smooth which is a task with the provided brush. The brush in my particular bottle had no two bristles facing the same direction. It’s basically like a nail polish brush. SHAKE THIS PRODUCT WELL! It is very thick. Hopefully this will last us a while because the dishwasher is still in great shape but only costs $300 new, and racks for it are about $200 so I figured I’d try this product out and save the money for a new dishwasher when the time comes. If you’ve got rust spots this seems to be the way to go. It’s really easy to over apply because it’s thick like glue, so I went light and tried to make sure there were no globs of it. We had probably 5 bad spots and the tips of all the “spines” on the bottom rack were rusted. I used about 1/5th of the bottle so it does go a long way. Lire l'avis complet...

Good product but the brush is too small
The products seems to be holding up well, but expect to spend a lot of time applying the product as the brush is so tiny. It takes a good 1/2 hour for for each rack per coat. I have done 2 coats and have enough left for a third. This should protect well. First cut out any real bad sections and sand the rust off before coating. I hope to add 1 more year to my dish washer before buying a new one. Racks cost 3/5 the price of a whole new machine. Works but be patient with application
This appears to work pretty well, but you will need a lot of patience to prepare the surface and apply the product. It is hard to get the paint out with the brush attached to the bottle top. It may be easier to poor a little bit instead of trying to get the paint directly out of the bottle.

NOT AS EXPECTED
I followed directions to a T. I shook it as directed and the contents were so thick it would not shake well. Way too thick I thought but did not want to try thinning it any. After I opened the bottle I tried my best to just stir it up as well. I applied my first coat and let it dry 30 mins., applied a second coat and let those dry overnight. Have applied several more coats next day. Then let these dry for over 24 hours. It finally covered to a degree but not as well as other reviews said it did. Had to put on a mask due to the strong odor. It looks really ugly and very lumpy. Cannot say my racks looks like new, sticks out like a sore thumb, but it will do for now. Planning on just buying new racks soon. But hey, who looks into your dishwasher to check your racks anyway. Would never recommend this product to anyone I care about. Just hope this mess does not flake off and cause more damage to either the washer or my dishes. Time will tell.Lire l'avis complet...

Covers rust up to one year
The product is very thick and a bit hard to paint on, but it does work very well. I applied this to my dishwasher rack about a year ago and it has stayed rust free. Recently I noticed a little rust bleed through so I reapplied some and it's fine again. I have also used it on a sink and that has also worked. Being that my sink is almond color the white does show up, but it's certainly better than rust! I highly recommend this product.Lire l'avis complet...

Taking a licking and keeps on sticking.
Goes on and covers ok but you will need a few coasts. Had some pretty rusted out areas and after a number of dishwashings the stuff appears to be holding out and sticking pretty good. The applicator is a bit flimsy but with that kind of material there isn't really the perfect applicator. All in all this stuff is working well so far. Strong smell & shelf life of only a year
This stuff was so thick I had a hard time getting it off the brush and onto the dishwasher rack. It does cover well because of the thickness. I contacted the company about this and was told that the product has a shelf life of 1 year, so how old was this product when I got it to use?

No more rusty spots on my dishes
If you don't want to buy a whole new rack, than this is the solution to rust. Cosmetically it isn't perfect, because you can see it was painted. It is nice to see rack all white, and my dishes no longer will receive rust spots on them.

dish washer rack repair
It seems to be working pretty well. We have a decade old Kitchen Aid with a service contract that covers everything but the racks. So we are trying to preserve the racks. The ends of the rack were rusting and one tyne was missing. I used a wire brush to bring it down to bare metal and coated three times as per the instructions. I've used this before, on old sinks as well as the dishwasher. It works well in anyplace water is used. I was delighted to find it on eBay.
