Super compact shooter with dual optic- digital screen and optical views.
The compact & lightweight features are excellent. The aluminum case is stylish and at the same time rugged. I have owned the previous 4 megapixel model for several years and more than got my monies' use out of it. The main plus feature is the opitical view finder. You won't find this on other compact cameras of the same size and features. A camera with digital screen only is totally useless in the outdoor sunlight. This camera gives both worlds. The picture quality is superb. As a novice shooter. For what I need, I can't tell the difference between this 5.0 and the upper end 12 megapixel camera pictures. This has all the features a novice could ever want. I use it everyday. No dissapointments!

For me is a excellent and non expensive option for amateur purposes.
I had this camera before with a underwater housing dedicated to the model, accompanied me on many trips and always worked perfect, both on land and underwater, and the result had nothing to envy to others pro UW cameras. It has everything you need for home and underwater videos and photos, fast autofocus, good macro and super-macro, zoom, flash and 30FS video capture, moreover uses 2 ordinary AA rechargeable batteries that can use more than 30-minute video.
I recently just loose the camera only.
Now I'm happy because here I find the same model, in very good condition and I will can use the housing again.
I've tried other newer underwater cameras and I still can not see a big difference according my domestics and underwater needs.

This is "The Best Camera for Taking ~ OUTDOOR Shots" in Full Sun or light shade. Wow. The Settings that I use for taking outdoor Photos are as follows:
1 - Move the Mode Dial Knob to "PICT" or PICTURE Mode.
2 - Set the Camera - "Flower Mode" (Camera Default) using the 4-Way Controller
3 - In the REC Menu: Record Pixels = 2560, Quality Level = 3 Stars, White Balance = SUN, Focusing Area = Multi, A E Metering = Medium, Sensitivity = 50 or 100 or Auto (I prefer 50)
