I have read many books by Linda L. Miller. Charity loved her family ranch and had no desire to live elsewhere. Her father made it real clear that he expected her to marry a neighboring rancher. In fact, in his will he stated that she would not inherit the ranch if she did not marry Raoule. She made it very clear that she loved someone else. (Charity was saved from drowning by this young boy, Luke, (10 years old) , and she promised him a wish as reward for saving her. ) Charity asked Luke to marry her to be able to inherit her father's ranch. Linda Lael Miller is an excellent writer - love to read her books. Her book keep you spell bound from the beginning. Makes you want to run out and buy all of her books (which I have great start on doing).
