Great starter camera and one of the few with a good super macro mode

Great basic camera with a super macro mode. That is actually what Olympus calls it and it is only available on certain models of their cameras--most of them are discontinued as this one. Several newer models have the feature also, but with a much longer focal distance so rather than getting a minimum focal distance of 0.8 inches it is more like 2 inches.

This is an easy to use camera that uses 2 economical AA batteries or rechargeable ones if you prefer. There is a separate on/off switch so the camera can be left in its last operating mode ready to go on the next power-up. The controls lay-out is very handy compared to some of the newer cameras and the menu is easily understood.

The reasons I bought one of these is because of the super macro mode that more closely resembles that which one gets from a real 35mm (or digital) SLR camera and bellows. Both of which are more expensive that this camera. The other is it uses AA batteries so no need to worry about replacing an expensive custom rechargeable battery when it dies.

The major disadvantage to this camera and many more like it from Olympus and every manufacturer is the lack of a real TTL view finder or even a rangefinder for using the camera outdoors. Sunlight washes out the display.

Not so major of a disadvantage is the xD cards are becoming harder to find at good prices.

I gave it 4 out of 5 since that is the highest rating I'll give any consumer kind of digital camera. If I had never been an avid or pro photographer I'd probably have given this camera a 5 even if it is only a 3.2 Mp camera. Rare feature camera

I already have one camera like this but because of lost books, i figured I could use another as a back up. This camera was rated in 2007 in Allure magazine as taking 10 lbs of the person photographed. At gatherings, that is a helpful when photographing groups. Olympus 535 Zoom 3.2 Megapixel camera

Whats really great about this camera is it's easy to use function wheel. there is a setting for self picture,landscape,night shot's and a video feature. the camera is also easy to get your pic's off of. you simply plug it in to your pc useing a usb cable,a screen will pop up and load your pictures. If there were a dislike about this camera that i would have is that it uses double a batteries in stead of a rechargeable power supply. I bought this camera as i was in need of a camera for hosting auctions this summer as well for personal use. As far as point and click camera's go i give this one a 5 out of 5 for performence and ease of use.

Olympus D-535 performance

The Olympus D-535 is an easy to use digital camera that gives very sharp pictures. The 3.2 Megapixels will allow prints to at least 8x10 inches(the largest I have had made). Even at the lowest quality setting good 4x6 inch prints are possible without using a lot of memory. It gives super performance in close up photography, with the lens being as close as an inch and a half or so. The only drawback I have encountered is the inability to easily focus on a subject in low light, which is common with auto-focus cameras using the same focus system. The camera I bought to use as a paperweight

I purchased this Olympus 535 Zoom camera because it had so many more features than my existing one. When I first received my camera I was so excited to get started to use it.
I discovered I did not get everything needed to be able to operate it. I was missing the cable to transfer pictures to my computer. I bought the cable and I still could not use it. I contacted Olympus Support but they no longer support that model. I could not find the necessary software needed to transfer the pictures on the internet. I contacted the seller but with no joy. The camera was to come with a 250 Meg memory card. I don't think it did. The information I have researched say I should be able to take from 150 to 200 pictures. I can only take 5 pictures and then it is full. Needless to say, I can't use the camera for what I intended to use it for. I guess I bought a paperweight.

Olympus' Camedia D 535

While not the highest megapixel rating, the diminuitive camera packs a lot of features, well laid out controls,and a semi tiny screen. There is no VF, so you need to be able to use the screen. Options like zoom, portrait, close up are all on the master control dial. Everything is "human engineered" with not a lot of stupid features that no one needs, or complications that you will never use. It is a "user's " camera. It is thicker than a pack of cigarettes but about the same size. Olympus makes a great product, and this is one of them.Lire l'avis complet...

Good little camera

I love this camera, which is almost brand new. It perfectly fits the bill for what I intend to use the camera for (work). Not every digital camera needs to have 12 megapixels,a 4" screen and 4 gb of memory. Great product for the money.Lire l'avis complet...
