Upgrade from the original
I have a 1999 WJ GC. Have replaced 2 ballast resistors over the years.This upgrade solves the overheating wire/plug issue(see pic below) and I feel is worth the few extra $$ for OEM quality. Also noticed at high speed the blower motor is operating at a higher rpm than with the old resistor...nice! One thing, the power wires were reversed on the kit. It's obvious as the blower will be running on hi with very low airflow. You either need to wire opposite when you splice into the existing wires or switch the terminals in the plug.
