Fantastic easy to use backup phone - excellent value for money

After buying my Wife a nearly new Nokia Asha 302 as a works phone I was amazed how light & easy it was to use.
I'm no stranger to Nokia's Symbian OS which was the mainstay of their feature phones for many years. I started with the original Symbian item - the Nokia 7650 - which started the whole Symbian theme. Also had the N80 & N95. Both an excellent example of the hold Nokia used to have on the feature phone market. The beginning of the smartphone era.
I was originally looking at a Nokia E71 or E72 but both seemed too "businessy" for me. I've tried a Blackberry which was too complicated & literally stumbled upon the E5 which combined a relatively small phone with a full hardware keyboard & the simplicity of the Symbian OS.
My main phone is iPhone so I was unsure whether I could adapt "backwards" to this as a second phone which I could take to hospital on my regular visits without worrying about it being stolen.
My uncertainty was unfounded - there are sufficient social networking apps to keep you going. Also WhatsApp to keep you instantly contactable. And the whole experience is quite satisfactory. The social networking apps are only links to the online website but saves you hunting around for bookmarks in this phone's (relative poor) web browser (compared to what I'm used to).
This fits the purpose for which I'd bought it - a second no-nonsense phone which was really just for calls & text but has the added surprise of social networking & instant messaging. And excellent battery life of up to 5 days (you barely get 24 hours out of most phones today).
Very cheap too compared to the E70 series phones which are really "too much" for that role. Mine was in almost new condition which was the icing on the cake. I am more than happy with this purchase.

Nokia reliability ,follow your head, not the herd using Blackberry's

Bought as an alternative to a Blackberry, and i'll be honest from opening the box i could tell it would be at least on a par with the Blackberry.
Build quality is better than the Blackberry, it feels solid and well built. easy to use, intuative.
Has all the things you need. great camera for a 5MP, good quality sound from the mp3 player.

al in all very happy with my purchase. it was a gamble over the "fashionable" Blackberry, but personally, i like that about it.
