Good Value for the Price
Nicely built, nice-sounding tube amp. I read a bunch of mixed reviews, but after owning for a few weeks, I'm very pleased. Powers my JBL 8" 3-way monitors just fine, though I wish there was a little more headroom. The sound is excellent. Good value for my first foray into analog listening.Lire l'avis complet...

Your source setup is important.
First off, at eight watts, I use a (tube) phono preamp and only play vinyl through an older set of Klipsch bookshelf speakers and it sounds great. A great introduction to tube sound. It looks cool with glowing tubes and amber meters with no other bells and whistles. On/off and volume are all you need here. An online EQ will help boot bass at low volume but seems to add just a touch of noise at higher volume. Remember not to use too much gain with your preamp as to not distort your source. The unit is very well built @20+ pounds with polished steel and wood accents. Classy retro look. Lire l'avis complet...

A Great Tube Amp for a Good Price! Tubes are a little finicky though.
Overall a very good high fidelity stereo tube amp.
Worked great out of the box.
I did change out the 5U4C directly heated cathode rectifier with a GZ34 indirectly heated rectifier. This allows the high voltage to come up slowly while the rectifier is heating up, saving stress on the other tubes.
The 6H8C preamp tubes were okay for a couple of days... the right channel tube starting crackling and making hissing noises after two days of use. The left channel tube was very microphonic also after a couple of days. I replaced them with a matched set of NOS NIB Sylvania 6SN7GTB tubes, which are a direct recommended tube. Their sound and overall quality is way superior to the Chinese 6H8C tubes which came with the amp.
I am now very pleased with the sound of this amp, it took about 7 days of use or about 50 hours on the tubes to break them in and their sounding wonderful
The depth of a single-ended tube amp is hard to beat! Especially when running this through a pair of KLIPSCH R41M Bookshelf Bass Reflex monitor speakers.Lire l'avis complet...

Great little class a amp
Takes about 15 hours to break in,after that it just keeps sounding better, use with high sensitivity speaker,90 dB or better and you'll have some very good high end sound. Would buy again, very happy.

Nice sound for the money
Nice amp with enough power for a pair of 100 watt speakers but you will need a preamp.
