The Essential System

Why is there still an appeal for the NES? Because not only is it Nintendo's first console, but it was invented in a time where throwing rocks at your friend and playing with sticks was the prime attraction of the day. The older this system gets, the harder it is to part with them just because of the memories I've had with the NES.

The NES is all about getting the high scores, and a huge variety of ways to do it with a plethora of titles ranging from boxing to jumping on turtles. Gamers typically say the hobby is more competitive now... but is it really? Or is it just now becoming accepted by a bigger market? There is plenty of competition that is just as challenging today as it was in the 80s.

Great product - a flawlessly maintained Nintendo Entertainment System.

Exactly as described: a beautifully maintained vintage NES, complete with a copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt/Track and Field. Hooked it up to the TV and it started right up, immediately causing all of those fond memories of gaming as a young kid to come flooding back! Looking forward to reliving all of my old NES titles. Best System, best games ever

It is worth every penny to go back in time with this machine. It was part of my childhood that will always remain. Remebering the fun times with best friends & the best games ever made will always be part of my entertainment collection.
Now that I said all the soppy stuff, this was well worth the purchase. I love it & my kids love playing what I use to enjoy. Nintendo should re release this machine or at least a best collection of games to remind gamers of where it all began.Lire l'avis complet...

Controllers broken

I thought I could push down on the cartridge to make it work

Both controllers push up on the d pads when pressing right. I had trouble trying get threw the door at the start of super Mario brothers 2. Throwback to 1985!

I always wanted one of these when I was growing up, so I took a shot and bought this refurbished unit. For a machine that's more than 30 years old it works great! Just like the original, it takes a little wiggling to seat the cartridge just right, but the elimination of the need to press it down into the console makes it much less of a hassle! I bought Mario 3 and The Legend of Zelda right away!! My kids love playing Mario! 8 bit fun for all!Lire l'avis complet...
