Just as I remember

I love this game to death. My brother and I played it for years and now my child is 8 and I’m passing on the tradition. We played for 12hrs straight 10am-10pm the first 2 days we had it. We haven’t beaten all the level with 100% accuracy yet, but we have advanced to the 3rd location on the map. fun game

Like earlier Donkey Kong Country games, Donkey Kong Country Returns is a side-scrolling platformer, but although the game contains classic references, as well as levels and activities reminiscent of earlier games in the series, it is far from a remake. In fact, Donkey Kong Country Returns stands very much on its own not only in its nearly 3D status, but also in its new visual treatment and control scheme. The game features the familiar team of Donkey Kong and his little buddy Diddy Kong. The goal is make your way across Donkey Kong Island collecting bananas and search for hidden items as you swing on vines, ride mine carts and more as you avoid the variety of enemies and situations set against you. New silhouette graphical treatment of both game heroes and enemies in certain levels also introduces new challenges, as players must perform all actions from within an entirely new perspective. The game also features the players choice of either the Wii Remote/Nunchuk controller configuration, or a sideways oriented Wii Remote. In addition to simple navigation and jumping movements, the Wii Remote also allows for a variety of other actions, including: ground pounds, rolls and even air blowing with simple, yet timed shaking of the remote.

In addition, the game also contains fun and user-friendly co-op functionality. In co-op mode players take on the role of either Donkey Kong or Diddy. Both characters have abilities of their own, but work together. Beyond this the game takes possibilities for cooperation even further, especially with players of different skill levels, as Diddy can if need be simply rest on Donkey Kong's shoulder and let him do all the work at times. In the event of death, either character can also be revived by the other by hitting a Donkey Kong barrel within the game. The game also continues the series' use of additional animal friends such as Rambi the Rhino, who can serve as a battering ram and can be ridden in certain areas of the game.Lire l'avis complet...

Nintendo does it again!

If you liked the original donkey kong country series, you will absolutely love dkc returns. The level design is great,sound is great, graphics are beautiful, all the luster of the original is left in tact.The game play mechanics are spectacular and feels very very good. One problem I had though is that the classic controller is not supported so you must use the wii's broken shake function and it really takes away any precision you might have had otherwise. Nintendo does this to many of its wii titles and ruins the experience for those of us who do not like to shake the controller like an idiot all day. :)
The game is great though so if that does bother you... you'll get over it..or used to it... unfortunately thats how nintendo rolls.
I love my wii, I love nintendo games and have stuck with them for many years, yet there are many instances where I can not even begin to describe how much I hate it when they screw things up. Think of how many controllers you need to buy to get the full experience with a wii... four wiimotes, four nunchucks, four classic controllers and four gamecube controllers. You would think they would support them or at least give you the option to set up your own control scheme...Lire l'avis complet...

Donkey Kong Country

Super fun game has elements of the classic donkey kong game while incorporating new features. A really fun game for the entire family and for all ages. The game is interactive and easy to play.

Difficult but Worth the effort

Donkey Kong Country Returns for the wii has many classic elements of Donkey Kong, such as balloons for lives. It is also not a easy game, it will challenge you as a player, but leave you coming back for more. It has a very colorful vibrant landscape, with characters such as cranky kong and diddy kong accompanying you on your adventure. As far as controls go the game has a blend of the Wii's motion technology and classic simplistic gaming styles of past Wii Mario games. That being said if you do not enjoy shaking your wii remote at all then that will take the fun out of the game for you, you have to shake the remote to play it, but if you can get over the occasional remote shake then you can enjoy a wonderful Donkey Kong gameLire l'avis complet...

Classic game, tons of fun!

Great game, graphics are really good. Brings back memories of playing this growing up. Donkey Kong is a classic in our evolving video game industry. I recommend it to all game enthusiast.

Why donkey Kong country returns is the best game ever.

I like that it has high resolution graphics and you can play multiplayer and if one person is off screen then they warp over to the other person. That way nobody will be off screen for very long.

Great Game, Great Price, Return to 2D platforming

Is a great game I now have all of the donkey kong games from the nes to the wii now and I have to say this is one of the best. I although do not have the one for the wii u but donkey kong country returns is a great return to the 2D platforming that we saw last on the super nintendo. They brought this one to an all new level though with amazing graphics, new mechanics using the wii remote, and tons of levels new objectives and legendary boss battles. I recommend this game for any donkey kong fan got it for 15 bucks and I cannot complain.Lire l'avis complet...

My girlfriend loves it

We bought this game mainly because of my girlfriend. It's a good game, it's just a little less attractive for me, I prefer New Mario Bro's and I can't wait to try Mario with 4 players.

This game is harder than Mario, but in exchange you get as many "Continue" as you want and you have no time limit. But you can end up really fast having to resolve to "Continue" because you can loose "balloons" really fast (life).

Secret paths are repetitive and no evolution is possible with Kong, except maybe having another heart but for only one game.

Good, but not quite Tropical Freeze

A pretty solid DKC experience, but the motion controls may be a deal breaker for many people. I would recommend just playing Tropical Freeze on the Wii U, or wait a few months until it is ported to the Switch.
