Makes a photographer out of you
My shooting life has been in the zoom lens world. I needed a faster lens for low light shooting and decided to go where the big boys started - prime. I have a 105 prime, but it can be too long. This lens makes me think about what I really see when I make a picture. I see "normal," why not shoot with a "normal" lens. It is very sharp; some say in some situations sharper than the 1.4. The price is right. It is light and easy to use. I shoot natural light only, and this makes beautiful pictures. I shoot dancers and musicians mostly, and they are never camera shy when I'm shooting them. Lately, the pictures of them they've been loving were made with this lens. f-1.8 50mm Prime lens under $200???
Excellent lens for FX or DX Nikon DSLR's offering low light capabilities only matched by lenses costing 3 times as much or more. Great for indoor photography, portraiture, weddings, etc! Biggest Bang for your buck for a prime lens
I've tried multiple lenses over the last couple years. This is probably your biggest bag for your buck. It provides good bokeh at apertures around 1.8 and produces pretty sharp images. Great 50mm Lens
This is a great lens that wont disappoint.....especially for the price. It's tough too, I dropped mine (on accident) from 5 ft onto the kitchen floor and not a scratch on it. For the price, can't go wrong!
Lens is okay, but not impressive! Bought for low light applications, but did not impress me! The mount is a little tight fit on the camera body, not comfortable with it! The lens delivers quality pictures. The images are fairly sharp and crisp.
It gives nice blur effect (bokeh). AF is just fine.
The material is quite good as shown in the picture.
While applying to the camera body, the lens does not slide as smoothly as the kit lens or other lenses do.
