Absolutely pleasurable, great features, lens, controls, handling, weight.

Being a film addict I have several fine vintage and modern cameras. The Nikon N8008s (mine with the MF-20 dateback and the AF Nikkor 35-70mm Lens) is an excellent example of fine engineering. The controls are quick to hand, they are intuitive, and although there are a LOT of control possibilities to master they are quite easy to learn. I used the Nikon N8008s manual and the Nikon MF-20 Dateback Manual and was up and running in a couple of hours. The dateback was a major item for buying this camera as I have a box of old film that has no dates imprinted. This will be appreciated when sorting my films taken with the Nikon. :-)

Nikon Film is Not Dead!!!

A Nikon N8008S for $5.50 cannot be beat! Mounted a 55-200 Nikkor lens and it's just plain GREAT! AF is fast enough and Nikon quality is top shelf. Now for a N90S as I work my way up to an F4! Underappreciated classic

If somebody wants to go back into film this is the camera to get. It's not as trendy as a FM2 F3 or any of the 'classics' but technically superior to most film cameras, particularly the N8008s (F801s outside US) model which has great spot metering. Nikon 8008s I'm loving it!

Nikon is my favorite brand of camera and I have owned one since the 1980's.
I have been shooting digital raw forever now and wanted to get back to film.

love that camera

I put camera thru its paces with slide and print film and exposures are spot on. Matrix and spot metering work great, every thing works as brand new. It's in beautiful shape !

At the price these sell for, WOW! Get some on film.

these will do about anything an F4 will do. they're not nearly as heavy or as big as an F4, but they're not as durable either. meter lens coupling rings are fairly fragile. if you like these 8008s cameras,and I do, buy a extra while you can. be careful not to mount any lens that isn't Ai'd. that being said, all nikons are pretty tough and these do have a plastic and rubber covered metal frame. auto focus isn't as fast or sensitive as with later models. matrix metering works great. balanced fill flash works great with the right model flash. film needs a faster lens than digital. mount a fast normal auto focus lens on one of these and go get some great shots on film.Lire l'avis complet...

As described new in box, worked with lens and flash perfectly! I am very happy to find this camera for the price! One of the best film cameras ever produced by Nikon!

Nikon 8008s

The 8008s is a fine example of Nikon's ability to give consumers a quality camera that will function with a wide array of lenses, and the ability to program the camera for auto or manual. The prices for used film cameras have dropped to where they are affordable for everybody. The Auto Focus is very good, and that being said, I don't shoot anything that requires a fast response. I'm very happy with the 8008s, and it will use most Nikon lenses except for G & VR, which are expensive anyway.Lire l'avis complet...

Works great

I bought this to replace an n8008 that I've had since the mid 80's. My wife had dropped it and no longer worked.. This allowed me to get a camera I know well, with the plus that I now have 2 of the sb-24 flash units and 2 of the 35-70 lenses.. Great deal..Lire l'avis complet...

Another reason why i love Nikon cameras!

It was in much better condition than I ever hoped for; it works perfectly. The shutter is smooth, the meter is accurate, the film transports smoothly, and the camera just feels right in my hand. Its going to be fun again shooting film with the 8008s. Too bad Nikon didn't find a way to incorporate the ergonomics from this camera into a digital model.
