It has changed the way I take photos inside my custom models.

I was not impressed with the flash shadow of the 10-30 mm zoom lens that came with the camera. It stuck out too far to fit in confined spaces besides leaving the shadow in close up work. This fixed focus lens fits in smaller places, leaves no shadow and is a sharper lens with a larger f stop of 2.8 compared to the 3.5 of the standard lens. It seems to focus better in low light situations and is rapidly becoming my standard lens for my Nikon 1 J3 camera. My only regret is that I did not make the purchase sooner. Little gem of a lens, get it if you are a fan of 28mm perspective ..

Of all the cameras I have ever owned, NONE made me want to go take pictures as much as the Nikon V1. None. And I am talking about 100+ cameras, everything from film and digital up to d600... OM-d, Ricoh GR, x100s etc ... all great, but the v1, with all its shortcomings, is the one I want to pick up when I head out. I'm talking street photography here, not studio stuff ...

Perfect budget wide angle

Nicely made wide angle for Nikon 1. I use it on an S1. Took it to the beach and had a blast. Sand was easy to clean off the front elements. Images came out sharp, it was very helpful to have the extra range of 2.8. I love the feel of 28mm. Nikkor quality in one tiny package.

I must admit that I was unsure as to the quality of this tiny lens to go with my V1 when I first decided to buy it as I have always used the high quality Nikkor lenses on the pro film and digital cameras I use, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The fast 2.8 gives excellent flexibility in poorer lighting conditions and the lens is sharp. I have done a number of photos with it now and am very pleased with it. Don't expect what you would get from a D3s or x and a fast AF lens but it is the best small lens I have seen from a small camera. Excellent value for money.Lire l'avis complet...

Good Prime lens for Nikon 1 series

Exceeds expatiations!

I was wondering how sharp this lens would be as I am new to the Nikon 1 system. The sharpness exceeds my highest expiations. It is strikingly sharp! Very well made with a solid feel of quality. Nice little lens

Good, but not great. Maybe due to have slightly different expectations.

Very good lens. Great qualty. I got my camera with 10-30 and 30-110 lenses, and I was expecting it to be wider in angle. If You need small fixed lens it's perfect, but I found my 10-30 being more useful on daily use.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent lens

I bought it as a secondary lens to accompany my 10-30mm and it's really worth it. Great depth of field, it quickly became my all around lens, and I will sell my 10-30mm.
