Not a horrible deal
I have only watched Princess Mononoke so far from this DVD set. It played, was English dubbed and had English subtitles (super happy with that!). The quality was not very good though. Randomly throughout the movie the screen would be quite pixelated, if it was that pixelated during the whole movie I wouldn’t bother watching it. I would say this set is worth spending $10.99, but the quality of the movies aren’t super clear. I will try watching a newer film like Ponyo to see how the quality is. Retro Studio Ghibli DVD set
The DVD is a nice collection. Although it has a minor setback. Princess Monoeke does not play all the way through and freezes at chapter 16 for me. Besides that, I think it's a good deal for under $18.00 to have all the Studio Ghibli films in a compact box.

Once again....
I am thoroughly entertained by these films. My last set ended up in the hands of a woman who has a toddler, and I couldn’t justify having her return them, and sacrifice him not being able to watch, and grow up with these wonderful creations. Beautiful work.Lire l'avis complet...

Good DVD collection for kids
A decent collection of the Ghibli movies. Sound on one or two of the tracks leaves something to be desired - quiet dialogue - but overall a great value esp if you have kids who love these movies.

Pirate dvd's, yes they are...but...It's an affordable copy of all the Miyazaki films. Some are clunkers but most are excellent. If you like or love Miyazaki you need this set.

17 movies, most of them great
Studio Ghibli classics like howls moving castle, arriety and ponyo. So many strong girl characters and something I'd feel safe to show children 4 and up. My 12 year old daughter and 15 year old son love these movies. I bought one earlier for my children Christmas, this is the second one I purchased; this was a gift. The teen was over the moon about it. The artistry and thought provoking themes make this a classic my family will love forever. We looked at all the trailers on IMDB, maybe 3 of them I personally didn't enjoy but out of 17, movies, I am content.Lire l'avis complet...

Great for the price
All movies are great. Totoro is voiced by different people than we are used to, howls moving castle is of different video quality then we are used to but both are fine.

Great price, bad quality
When I watched the movies they appeared blocky and blurry and I could tell immediately that they were bad quality but you can't beat the price. It's not the worst quality and you can still very much see everything that's going on so It's kind of worth buying.Lire l'avis complet...

Perfect!
Perfect collection! I thought there must be a catch but no! 17 Ghibli movies came and the discs all work perfectly. I'm so happy to have this collection! They are in English or Japanese.
