Great Game

Praise:
The graphics are great.....again. I thought that the gameplay is similar Most Wanted, which is phenominal. It is a very fun racing game with a storyline as well as additional challenges. Added features in this game include the new "autosculpt" feature which gives you endless possibilities to the customization of your car.

Criticism:
As a big fan of Need for Speed Most wanted, and unfortunately I don't think that the story line of the new game was quite as interesting or gripping as the last. The Grand Theft auto (san andreas) theme of controlling gang territory was used, and during gameplay stopping what you're doing to "defend your territory" seems tedious. The sound effects also get kindof annoying, truthfully. The tires screech at every touch of the joystick and as always you can't get the car moving without laying down some rubber. Also, the amount of available cars in this game is limited, same as previous need for speed titles.

OVERALL, if you're looking for a great racing game, need for speed Carbon is definately a candidate. The graphics and handling are amazing, but I do not find myself as engaged in this game as I did for Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

EA's Next-Gen NFS Sequel is a fun Arcade Race Game

This game is exactly what you would expect from the EA Need For Speed series, which is both good and bad. If you're looking for a racing sim then get Project Gotham or Test Drive Unlimited to hold you over until Forza comes out. If you are looking for a fun, pretty and generally entertaining arcade racer for your 360 then this is your game.

The story is a sequel to Need For Speed Most Wanted with a plot line that my eight year old son could figure out in about 30 seconds, but nobody plays these games for the story. The action is fast and fun and seems to be right on par with NFS Most Wanted. Just like in that game you have to claw your way up through the local network of street racers and the bosses. This time around they got rid of the drag races from the last game and have inserted a drifting style race instead. You'll most likely either love it or hate it but either way it's not essential to advancing the game.

The visuals are a lot like Most Wanted except darker and sharpened up a little. It's a very pretty game on a nice big screen tv. It looks better than Most Wanted but only by a little.

My personally favorite aspect to the game, besides running from the cops, is the ability to design and modify the cars. There are the usual modifications that one would expect out a game like this, but there is also an autosculpt feature which lets you do everything from control the dimensions of the wheels and tires to chop the top and everything else in between. For a wannabe car designer it's a lot of fun.

This game isn't as long as NFS Most Wanted but it's every bit as fun. If you've played the Need For Speed series in the past and liked them then you won't be disappointed.

Need for Speed Carbon (Xbox 360)

I found this to be a good game. What I liked about this game is it has a lot of options on what you can do in the game such as customizing your cars with cool looking vinyl’s, adding new parts to your cars to increase your performance, also many different choices of cars. You get three different choices of what kind of cars you want to start out with Tuner, Exotic, and Muscle. Tuner is mainly good for drift races but it is also good for almost all races depending what your car is customized with. Muscle is good for checkpoint races and sprints. Exotic is good for a lot of races but, I consider it mainly a showcase car. The story mode is fairly long and very interesting. This would be a good game for racing fans that enjoy many different types of races. Overall I would rate this game an 8 out of 10.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Game

The game was short but it felt like I was really in the game fighting over territories and how it's like a part 2 of need for speed most wanted.I think the game is cheap and really worth it.

Great Racing Game

This is another one of those Electronic Arts Need for Speed Releases. This game has nice story, the videos in there are excellent quality. The only thing is that the graphics are not as good as expected. It is actually less graphic then the previous release. The cars in there are nice and hooked up. Races and handling are great. Great Game, Recommended!Lire l'avis complet...

good ..........................................................

Need for Speed: Carbon is the tenth installment of the game series Need for Speed. It was first shown at the Sony conference at E3 2006. It is the first NFS game that is released for PlayStation 3 and Wii and has a strong emphasis on night races. The game features the actress and model Emmanuelle Vaugier as their model.

The story is about what happened after the events that took place during Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The main character returns to Palmont, his hometown, but everything has changed there. Now gangs are fighting for control of the streets to dominate the city. The final duel takes place in Carbon Canyon (hence the name of the game), and can be a deadly race.

Also developed a port for PSP, DS and Zeebo, called Own The City, which has a different plot and is situated in another city called San Francisco.

Started great, then it froze!

The disc was a little scratched.....no big deal. About 20 mins into the game, it froze and had lines going through the picture. I'm praying I can have it resurfaced due to already buying it once.

Learn the term "Don't fix it if it ain't broke"

Need For Speed Carbon returns as a sequel to Most Wanted. But truthfully, it isn't really a sequel at all. It's more of an excuse to try to get gamers into this new experience, unsuccessfully I might add. Carbon is a definite step backwards from Most Wanted. One of the main problems is in what you do. All you do is race, race, race, race, and sometimes, a canyon duel. And race again. Now normally, this isn't a bad thing, as this is a racing game, but when every race, car, and AI driver looks and feels the same, then there's a problem. Plus these races don't come off as rewarding at all. You are pretty much just doing the same races and it just didn't draw me into the experience. Also the cops are a totally pointless addition to this game. Cops have absolutely nothing to do with this game. You don't have any challenges to compete related to cops to progress through the game. But they are still there. Why I am not exactly sure. At first I was happy when I heard the announcement cops would be in this game, but really, they are pointless. But there are a couple pluses. The Autosculpt™ technology is very rewarding and interesting. It adds an entirely new level of customization to the gamer's delight. Also, the canyon duels and the challenge series are cool, as there are cop challenges in the challenge series, and difficult turns to be had in the canyons. Too bad you only get to enjoy a couple of canyon races. The rest is just boring races. Oh, and its the same for every platform: so the stupid experience is everywhere.

Carbon had the potential to be an excellent sequel to Most Wanted. Instead, we get a smoldering piece of... you get the idea. The races are boring, the all-night environment obscures your vision, the cops are pointless, and the online mode IS THE EXACT SAME. Steer your Lamborghini away from this one.

One of my favorite NFS games

I haven’t played a whole lot of the recent games, but this one has always been one of my favorites.

Great Game. Slow on gamerscore

Carbon is great especially for those racer fans and it includes a wide variety of customizations for the users car and crew. The territorial battles compare it to the racing brother of grand theft auto. However it does take a long time to acheive gamerscore. I am currently plenty through the game and i havent recieved a single point. It is more based on online play unlike "most wanted"Lire l'avis complet...
