I purchased this item for all the great features it has, especially the complete games it contains, to re-live the thrills and action of these great championship games. The intense rivalry with the Colorado Avalanche in the ultimate game between the two! It's great to see the greatest players ever assembled on one team live again! Capt. Steve Yzerman, Sergei Federov, Brendan Shannahan, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Dominick Hasek, Mike Vernon, Igor Larionov, Vyachaslav Kozlov, and so many more, led by Coach Scotty Bowman! Very complete DVD set

This was a great DVD collection! It combines the Red Wings' 8th, 9th, and 10th Stanley Cup DVDs with compilations of their greatest moments in their history. There are also 5 complete games included, each including the whole broadcast from the opening faceoff until the final buzzer, minus any commercials. Two things stood out for me:

1 - I had previously tried to get DVD's for the "Hockeytown" and "Return to Hockeytown" VHS cassettes that I own, only to find that there were none available. Both are included here.

2 - The 5 "Greatest Games" as chosen by fans were great! I would have picked maybe 2 different, but everyone has their favorites.

Overall, I am VERY happy with this collection. Eight DVD's worth of Red Wings moments is a very good thing.Lire l'avis complet...

MUST have! Detroit Red Wings 04, DVD Orig-6 Series

MUST HAVE for any Detroit Red Wings fan!
Keeping in mind the focus is on the Cup wins from 96/97-97/98 Though older games are there, and the 01/02 win. You can see the production differences. But considering how little is on DVD for hockey at all. Let alone Wings hockey, it is a MUST have set. I do hope that as time moves on, the companies who own the rights to previous broadcasts will see that there is a demand for this. And start re-releasing classic moments, big hits, record nights etc. Past the normal highlight tapes that has been out previously. Nothing replaces being there. But now having a chance to see it just as clear as the first time it was broadcast is just great. So make sure you dont miss this! The only way they will do more sets for any team, let alone Wing Nutz is if enough people pick this set up! Or the few others out there! So lets go people! NHL Original Six Series - Detroit Red Wings (2004, DVD)

Getting all the Hockeytown DVDS in the package is great. The thing that I got this for was the March 24game against Colorado, or I like to call it fight night at the Joe. This was old time hockey in all aspects. The fights the goals the saves the shots . . . It was real hockey. The other games on here are good as well, but this was the centerpiece and is worth the price of the DVD. I wish however that since this DVD was spotlighting the Wings I wish it would have had a game or two from the from the 50's and 60's. II am happy I got it and if you are a Wings fan you will too. Happy Kid!

My 7 year old son thinks the Elf brought this. He was thrilled and has watched every game. For me, it’s exciting to watch players like Yzerman, McCarty & Federov again!

NHL Origional 6 Series- DRW

This collection is top notch! While I would've loved to see more footage of the "production line era/Olympia era", this collection did serve the "grind line era", "hockeytown era" and "russian five era" very well. Overall I'd say that Detroit aka Hockeytown is represented and showcased in a manner sure to get Detroit Red Wings and Hockey fans blood boiling from start to finish.
