Just a blast for hockey fans

NHL Hitz 20-02 was the first NHL Hitz game introduced to the Xbox system. It's a nice overall fast-played hockey game. Fun for even the non-sports fan. I've had plenty of fun times playing this game. Even with my friend who isn't into sports at all and just liked the fact that you can pound the crap out of some one. It's really fun. Though there are a few things about the game that needs fixing, it's still a pretty fun overall hockey fan.
Game play/controls- 9
The controls are very easy to learn. No problems here. The game play is almost as easy as it can get in order to have a little challenge. I mean you don’t want a game that has such an easy game play that a toddler can figure it out. Though on the other hand you might want to play a toddler at this game but I doubt that they would haha. Anyway the game has a very little challenge figuring out the controls. I would give it a 10, though somehow I think they could have added a button such as a "big hit” button such as in some football games such as NCAA Football 2005 for Xbox. Now that's a whole different sport, though the same concept. The "big hit" button would in this game enforce a big hit, lets say twice more powerful then a regular hit. In NCAA Football 2005 the "big hit" does the same thing. When you press the button it produces a big hit that will hit the runner. Just a neat idea I thought of for the game.

Graphics- 6.5
The graphics are all right. They’re not the greatest but their playable. It doesn't make you feel like you’re actually in the game like the Xbox 360. Of course the Xbox was made before the 360 so you gotta give it some credit. Some games aren't fun because of the graphics and this game isn't one of them.

Sound-5
The sound isn't really that great. Well I guess I mean the announcers. The announcers don't really say a whole lot about the game play. It really made me mad also playing the game because the announcers would say the same old thing. And the sounds that the game makes when you score are really annoying. You can up the difficulty so that there isn’t a whole lot of scoring but every time there’s a goal there’s going to be an annoying sound. Though you could just put it on mute. It's still a fun game to play.

Overall-7
The game is just a great time. Bottom line is that it's just a fun game to play with your friends or against the computer. The computer isn’t as fun as playing your friends but it's still fun to play. The best hard hitting game out there is the NHL Hitz series. This game is a blast. Great game, but get HITZ 20-03 Instead

NHL Hitz 2002

I played Hitz 2002 briefly after getting it for christmas. This was after I had already played NHL Hitz 20-03.

I like Hitz 2002, but it just doesn't compare to 20-03. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but NHL Hitz 20-03 is better in every category.

Rent or Buy?: Don't Buy Hitz 2002. If you want a HITZ game, get NHL Hitz 20-03, it is the best game in the series by far.

Not only the best of its time, its the best of all time

This game is the only hockey game ever to simply rely on the basics of hockey.
1) Speed can be turned up faster than any other hockey game.
2) One timers score 80% of the time.
3) Hits when on fire are unreal, but only when on fire. Otherwise the hits are still awsome busting people through the glass.
4) Anyone that has played Hitz 2002 would agree that hockey video games increased the importance of hitting more than 3 time after its release.
5) The end of fights always end up a cheap blow at the end.
6) Fighting occurs in every game.
7) 3 minute periods.

Hitz 20-02 Is the best!!!

I have owned this game several times and sold it several times due to wanting another game or system. I re-buy it everytime I seel it because I miss playing it when I sell it.

This isn't a regular NHL game. It is one of the acrade style in the same type of the NFL Blitz series. This game is fast paced smash mouth hockey, making it over the top fun and great to play with friends. If your looking for a full simulation for the PS2, keep looking. The game is awesome! It makes you want to go play hockey and just knock people out. It's a great game and I recommend it to those who love hockey and just want to knock other players out!
