One of the best Hockey games ever made!!!

NHL 99 (N64)

I know that we're heading into 2007 and with the PS3 and XBOX 360 now available the N64 is a thing of the past. There are a few games that still get my motor running that aren't available on the newer systems. NHL 99 is one of them.

Hardcore hockey fans will know why. NHL 99 changed the hockey gaming world forever. It was the creator and innovator of all the features we see today. Not only that, but this game is a blast. Not in single player mode, but multiplayer. A Friend vs Friend game has never been more fun. The game is so simple to play that almost anybody can master it in less than an hour.

Gather a group of friends together and pick a team. Then proceed to draft players (7 forwards, 3 defenseman, and 2 goalies) and make your teams. Turn off line changes and have a mini season. Once you get started I guarantee you won't want to stop. Throw some money in the mix and you'll have a month or so of gaming fun. The major plus side to NHL 99 is that everyone can play and have a chance to win. It's not like the hockey games today where if you don't play 24/7 you're not good.

Good game if you aren't expecting too much

Good: Relive old times with throwback rosters

Bad: Slow, choppy gameplay. Bad graphics

This is a classic case of playing an old system after playing the newer ones. The gameplay and graphics could never compare to the newer gaming systems, but if you go into the game ok with that, it is actually a good game. The controls aren't ver smooth, but it does offer a season mode complete with trades and free agents. Game works! Love that I can play as Dan Bylsma. I also love the simplistic controls that this game offers; makes it easy to look good.

Cart works great

Super happy to be able to play NHL on my 64. Played for about 3 hours today and no problems! Also, it got here really fast, which is awesome.
