NCAA Football 08

From the very first snap, you'll notice this game runs a whole lot faster and smoother than last year's edition, thanks to the necessary bump to 60 frames per second. This improved framerate also has another interesting effect -- you're able to see many more of the subtle-yet-sweet animations, such as ball carriers putting their hand on the ground to regain balance or juking under a defender who's suddenly left hugging air. Aside from speeding things up, developer EA Tiburon has smartly retooled many key facets of gameplay. Run blocking is vastly improved, as it's finally possible to get some positive yardage on sweeps -- plus, those fatties on the offensive line now open some actual running holes between the tackles. The defensive A.I. also steps it up, especially in the secondary. In years past, the deep ball was always a defensive back's Achilles' heel. That's not the case anymore -- unless you spot a breakdown in coverage or catch them offguard with a pump fake, these defensive speed demons will stick to wideouts like stink on s***. Defenders are pretty smart between the hash marks, too; toss an errant pass over the middle, and more often than not, someone will step in to intercept it. But you won't always want to rely on the A.I. for making plays, simply because the refined hit stick makes it much more fun to knock the snot out of the opposition. Seriously, it's supremely satisfying sending a receiver head over feet with a perfectly timed flick of the right analog stick. And now that 08 lets you save highlights, you can continually relive these thrilling, heavy-hitting moments and even send the clips to your fellow sportos.Lire l'avis complet...

great game, but missing a lot

I love the graphics on this game. never seen football look better from a video game. However, they took too much out. It almost cancels out the graphics. the gameplay isnt that good, there are no refs or line judges. there are no 1AA teams, there no two players on the same team. that to me is my favorite part that makes a game have replay value. My roommate and I were 11 seasons into a dynasty on NCAA 07. we were unbeatable. I'm very disappointed with the things the took out, just to add a few things. The best part of this game is legend mode. But only if your a single loser with no friends and have plenty of time by yourself. Not for me. would i buy this game again if i had the chance? YES. only because i've owned every NCAA football game ever made. I LOVE college football. I love the games that EA makes. but i would give this game a 6/10Lire l'avis complet...

Playbook

One of the greatest aspects of this game is the playbooks. Almost every team has a totally different playbook with motion offenses, trick plays, and various types of position changes. The styles are very similar to the actual teams also. Much more exciting is the gang tackle which allows more than one person to tackle a player. On older Ncaa Football games the player with the ball could get a first down or more with just being able to fall forward. On this game a few players can hit them and stop them where they are at. Awesome title, I give it a 4 out of 5.Lire l'avis complet...

Much bettter than 07, You should buy it

Being the second year on the Xbox 360 Ncaa 08 has made great improvements. The game play runs very smooth and flawlessly. Moves at 60 frames per second.

One of best new features are the tackles. You tackle anyway possible. Tackle high low, in mid air, at peoples legs, or perform a ball dropping hit, all with the hitstick 2.0.

This game gives you more control over everything you do, no more catching the ball out of bounds when u throw it to the sidelines. The players actually drag their feet, and perform ONE HANDED CATCHES!

The Dynasty feature is the best, the recruiting is so realistic. You have to talk to players each week, and find out what they like most about your school, and use that to make them interested into coming to your school. They have home visits, campus visits, and you can make promises, that if you don't keep they will want to transfer.

Campus legend is really good to, but sometimes gets a little boring. You have to play high school games to determine your skill level, and when your in College you work your way to the top, eventually to the Heisman trophy.

Graphics- 9/10 -
sound - 10/10
Gameplay - 10/10
Replay Value - 9/10

Overall- This game is much better than last year, and I recommend buying this before you buy Madden 08, I think this game is better. It is much more exciting, and fun to play.

Good Football Game

As a football simulation game, this title does a great job. Some of the peripheries don't hold up as well. There is an annoying pause between the selection of a play and the play starting, and the camera angle isn't ideal. Also the shoulder pads look goofy and the running isn't as fluid as it could be. Other than that, there aren't too many things that are better than recreating the 35-point beat down that Florida offered up on Tennessee last year. Go Gators!Lire l'avis complet...

Good College Football Game

As a fan of the NCAA College Football games, this is a fun game. Each year this game has come out the graphics and gameplay gets better. For a sports game that came out in 2008, the game does not look out dated. The stadiums looks great and the player animation is good. Only negative about the game is selecting your plays on O and D. If you are playing two players, your opponent knows what plays you are running. Other than that I enjoyed this gameLire l'avis complet...

'08 a New Beginning

NCAA Football 08 for the 360 is the resurection of college football and makes you feel like you are there at the game on Saturday's. From the crowd roaring, to the players emotions, to Kirk, Lee, and Chris, you can't get much better than this when it comes to college football. 2007 version had good game play if that was all you are looking for. But, many of us have come to expect more from our sports game and this year the college gridiron delivers. Campus Legend mode, Skills Performance, Training camp and a revamped Recruit for all you Dynasty lovers, which allows you to call prospects and make pitches. This game also includes the Mini games from last year.

The on the field gameplay of 2007 was great in my opinion if you are just looking at GAMEPLAY. But in 2008 it gets even better with all new "Foot Nailed to the Ground" Motions, which makes is look like players are pivitting and actually cutting on the turf vs. Looking like their foot is on ice, to the gang tackles and big hits, to the new player models, and the 115 Division 1 Detailed Stadiums, this game is one of a kind! All PRO FOOTBALL 2K8's sloggan is "Football Resurected" well this is COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESURECTED.

Great video game

I bought NCAA 08 for the xbox360 last week because I wanted a decent sports game under 60 dollars. This is the best way to go if you don't mind the rosters. NCAA08 has a great campus legend mode where you can start playing as a high school player and then move onto college. I also enjoy dynasty mode of the game. Overall, I would recommend NCAA08 for the xbox360 to someone looking for a good game at a good price.Lire l'avis complet...

NCAA Football 2008 - Better than ever!

Graphics: Excellent 9/10
The graphics are very well done and they are sharp. You can tell that this game moves at 60 frames per second (FPS) when it goes from close to far shots.

Sound: Great – 9/10
The commentary is well done, and you will feel that you are watching / involved in College Gameday on Saturday mornings. Your college’s fight songs are also included, which for any graduate, is a bonus.

Gameplay: Great – 9/10
Smooth animations, large playbooks, multiple and deep one player modes – this game has really grown up from last year.

Replay Value – Above Average 9.5/10
This is a great college football game. The multiplayer alone gives it a high replay value (though a bit choppy), but the single player experience is there to keep you coming back to take your team to the BCS championship again and again.

Overall – 9/10
This edition of NCAA Football by EA is a drastic improvement over last years outing. With additions such as “Super-Sim”, this game is a great addition to an XBOX 360 owner’s catalog.

This game is a must for the NCAA College Football fanatic. With plenty of single player options, dynasty modes, “Campus Legend” mode, and the online capabilities of the 360, this game will keep you coming back for more. The smooth gameplay and 60 FPS make this the better college football choice for those of you that have both the PS3 and the 360. This game is deep, and it will keep you deep. This game comes highly recommended.

Fun and Shows Mass Improvement From Last Year's Game

NCAA Football 08 has improved greatly, finally using next-generation technology to it's advantage. This game features a new gameplay engine and branching animation system which allows for gang tackling and you won't be stuck in an animation and run automatically run out of bounds on a sideline pass to your running back.

Another great feature is the Weather Channel. What, the Weather Channel? Yep, every game will start with the exact weather conditions at the exact moment you are playing wherever you are playing! Extreme heat in Arizona? Your game will depict that. Hurricane close to Gainesville, Florida? "The Swamp" of Florida Gators football is where to be.

In addition, unlike the PS3 version of this game, NCAA Football 08 runs at 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360. Also, there are 115 detailed stadiums, up from 40 in last year's game, NCAA Football 07. Campus Legend mode is also back on the Xbox 360 after being absent last year. With the addition of this mode to the Xbox 360 version of NCAA Football 08, you will be able to take your player from Campus Legend mode and import him into Madden 08's Superstar Mode. Lastly, this game allows you to create highlights from your games and submit them to http://www.easportsworld.com/ and share them with others online.

This game is a must buy if you enjoy college football and enjoy playing video games. It is very fun and the online gameplay is great. EA did a wonderful job this year and I don't know if it is possible to improve the game much more!
