Mystic Pizza (2001, DVD)

I had recently returned from a mini vacation with my daughters, Brittany and Amie, from Mystic, CT and went in Mystic Pizza for a slice and seen a promotional new release for the movie the wall since that was the setting for it. I bought the DVD soley for nostalgic reasons but it was a great romantic comedy. Being a guy, not trying to stereotype myself but I will, Im more into drama and adventure but I really enjoyed the movie from start to finish. It is rated R but can be watched by the whole mature family. This R rating is not even close to what PG rated movies are this day and age. The movie was well scripted and the great cast of actors developed their characters so well you really come to know each one individually and can relate to their real life problems and joys. We had fun recognizing all the local scenery and made us long for the New England area and lifestyle. I gave it a 4/5 since the beginning took some time to get going but stick with it and it is worth the wait.Lire l'avis complet...

A classic coming of age film

Bought this as a gift for someone who was too young for the movie when it first came out. I know she will love watching the different stories of the characters as they learn difficult life lessons and become the young women they were meant to be...I loved this movie and find it really stands the test of time.Lire l'avis complet...

2nd copy of this classic movie

I had a copy of this movie on DVD that I bought more than 10 years ago, and when I wanted to watch it again, the DVD had cracks in the middle ring and would not play. I searched on various websites and finally found a copy on e-bay, I love this movie and I'm so glad I found another copy, it played perfectly!Lire l'avis complet...

Great service

The movie is cool and it arrived in a couple of days. I decided to buy it because I had seen the movie on TV and gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I think it's Julia Roberts' first movie role of note. GTe price was right and nobody outbid me so here I am trying to think up 100 words or more to review a simple purchase I guess I'll say it was the highlight of my life and I want to thank members of the Academy and all the "little people" who made me what I am today! Great coming of age movie!

One of my favorite movies as a teen! It was so much fun watching with my own teen age daughter!

THIS IS JUST ONE OF THOSE ENJOYABLE FILMS ABOUT LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP. THREE YOUNG WOMEN WHO HAVE GROWN UP TOGETHER THEIR WHOLE LIVES LEARN ABOUT LIFE,RELATIONSHIPS, TRUE COMMITMENT AND THE REAL MEANING OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP. IT TAKES PLACE IN MYSTIC,CONNETICUT IN THE LATE 1980'S. A WOULD-BE BRIDE, A BOOKSMART STUDENT WITH LITTLE EXPERIENCE WITH THE OPPOSITE SEX AND HER OLDER SISTER WHO IS UNSURE OF WHAT HER FUTURE HOLDS EMBARK ON A LIFE LESSON ABOUT THREE TOTALLY DIFFERENT MALE PERSONALITIES.

ALL OF THE ACTORS IN THIS MOVIE DO A NICE JOB PORTRAYING THEIR RESPECTIVE CHARACTERS. THE CAST INCLUDES A VERY YOUNG JULIA ROBERTS, ANNABETH GISH, VINCENT D'ONOFRIO, WILLIAM R. MOSES, LILI TAYLOR AND ADAM STORKE. MANY OF THESE FINE ACTORS HAVE GONE ON TO HAVE SOLID CAREERS.
