A tech dated diamond in the ruff

Ok, with it being 2010 by today's standards of brick sized phones that does everything under the sun this phone doesn't hold a candle to them.

But and this is a big BUT, if you looking for a phone that, makes calls, send texts, can take photos, not pocket dial, is not pron to freezing up and has a great battery life. In other words if your looking for a simple phone that "just works" and doesn't take up a lot of space in your pocket then it just doesn't get any better then a Motorola RAZR.

With all of that said, and if you want one please keep in mind that your going to be buying tech that is at least 3 years old (marking stopped in July of 07) , most likely older. Compared to phones of today it's going to have a slower response time and the pictures aren't going to be what you have been use to.

This is my third and using it is like hanging out with an old friend, I often wish that they would bring it back so I wouldn't have to buy used ones online.

Motorolla RAZR V3m

I loved this cell phone (Motorolla Razr V3m) when it first became available. It was state-of-the-art! Now, after having newer cell phones, and with the latest, the Samsung Galaxy S4, trying to go back to this style of phone, with the voluminous amount of texting I do now, I just couldn't make the transition back to the old way of texting. This phone is a great phone for people who don't want to text message, use messenger, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc. The list goes on. The phone was nice. Well taken care of, with only minimal wear and tear. The seller was quick in sending the phone. Bottom line...I'm spoiled now.Lire l'avis complet...

Still a Great cellPHONE

This is a hard phone to beat for the price (under $40.00 refurbished). The Razr is still a great cell phone when what you need to do is make voice calls. It's hard to beat for size and weight. While this is not anyway near a cutting edge product anymore, it still offers very good voice quality, and handsfree dialing.

I was still using my original Razr V3c when I lost it in an airport in December 2010. Except for 2 battery replacements, my Razr V3c lasted almost 5 years, with no trouble or repairs.

While I plan to get a 4G smartphone this year, I still wanted a Razr for backup, and situations where lugging around a 4.3" Android phone wasn't convenient. For a small phone, the Razr still feels expensive and solid. For literally a few dollars more than a V3c, the V3m adds more storage, MP3/WMA music playback and the ability to add a 2GB transflash/MicroSD card.

Motorola Razr v3m/ Comparing prices and phones

When Deciding to buy a new phone always compare prices to the phones original retail price. Whats the phone selling for at retail? Whats it selling on ebay new and used? The price almost always will be lower on ebay unless its an item in high demand. That will tell you alot about the quality of the item. If it sold at the end of auction at a fraction say 1/8 of retail price, be wary theres a reason if its continually selling at that price. Read reviews do your home-work especially on technology. Having said that The Motorola Razr V3m has like any phone good points and bad points.

Good points
1. Smaller slimed down version/easier to just put in pocket for men and smaller purses for women
2. has internet access/ vcast
3. has a camera within the phone resolution not bad but not top of the line decent for ameteurs like the most of us
4. voice command capabilities
5. overall not a bad phone to start out with for a beginner techie person

Bad points
1. If you have verizon verizon limits the ability of this phone to only verizon sold ring tone...as far as I can tell. Which is good and bad. good in the sense your not trying to download free ring tones to a website with viruses. and bad in the sense well your gonna have to pay.
2. I have noticed if you dont speak directly into the phones speaker theres a possiblity the person on the other end didnt hear you or not very well. I dont know if its a problem with the phones volume levels or the speaker itself but apparently this is common for this style phone.
3. Finally the MAIN problem with this phone is battery life. This is the reason this phone got a 4 instead of a 5 for me. All phones have pros and cons this is my biggest. The phones slimmer version is good for smaller areas but also the phones battery is much smaller as well. Therefore battery life is less for this phone. For my experience I have to charge my phone about every 48-60 hrs or so about every 21/2 days. Which for me was alot more for this phone than previous phones. So you may want to invest in a car charger.

Now having said all that the decisions up to you. These are my observations and information I have obtained. I hope this has been helpful. Goodluck bidding.

Good temp solution for the money

- Why you bought it
I bought my V3m cell phone because my Blackberry 8530 was stolen. Needed a replacement quick, I had a Razr before when they first came out. I could not find a used 8530 for the right price, so I went with the RAZR V3m as a temp soulution to my problem.
- What you like most about it
The price is what I like the most about it. Next it was blue tooth capable which I needed for work when I'm driving in Ca. must have blue tooth wireless setup.
- What you dislike about it
Don't get me wrong for it's time RAZR V3m was top of the line phone. But, with no wireless connection, no fast blackberry push email, no address and email info in address book, all the different applications that my blackberry has, etc. There is really nothing like the new phones.
- Whether or not you would buy the product again
If I just wanted basic phone, basic email, no internet, no wireless connection, I would purchase. But, the new phones have so much more to offer. I now have a blackberry 8530 again. However there are still people out there who just want a basic phone. If your one of those people, Yes, I recommend the RAZR V3m phone it will serve you well.

Motorola Razors

I bought this phone on eBay because my daughter has already used her twice yearly insurance replacements, and yet again the phone stopped working. I like the keypad, and the memory space / features. The design is slim and compact which is great. The problems we've been having have been within the phone itself. The first two had factory software problems, and this last one, bought here on eBay worked fine for a couple of months. Then it also started getting blank screens. According to Verizon it was originally activated 2 years ago, so I'd say it lasted a while. We just received our new Razor today from Verizon (3rd since 8-07) so hopefully it will last more than a few months. I have known friends with this phone and it has lasted them over 2 years. I'd say it's luck of the draw on the sotfware, but the phone itself has never failed us.Lire l'avis complet...

NIB Razr V3m w/ small firmware quibbles

I was in the market for a replacement for my BlackBerry Tour. Not exactly eager to part with it but I had just been laid off from one of my jobs, so the Tour and its mandatory data plan needed to go. I am ineligible for an upgrade, so I knew I would need to look for something affordable and turned to eBay. I used to use a Verizon Motorola Razr V3m; thus far, it has been the only other cell phone I have owned that was satisfied with. Surprisingly, there were many V3m Razrs available...

I found this NIB Razr V3m for Verizon Wireless. Outside of a few annoying firmware locks that the usual hacks do not seem to work on, this phone is excellent. The call quality is shockingly clear, something I have not had the pleasure of even on my BlackBerry Tour. Given that all I need the phone for is calls, texting, and some visual appeal, this phone is perfect for my needs. It is especially nice that I don't know anyone who uses one anymore.

Pro: call quality, refined menu system from original V3m I owned 3 years ago, no Verizon branding except within the firmware.

Con: the usual hacks and seem edits appear ineffective; at this time I will have to turn to VZW for different ringtones as this Razr will not accept Phonezoo ringers or others of differing formats off of my PC.

All in all, a solid recommendation.

P.S. - Firmware seems to be NCR_01.1A.00R. Google shows it as Alltel firmware though this is not the case with mine. I read this from under the battery cover; it is possible that the firmware has been flashed to Verizon and that the number under the battery is incorrect.

I've had better--I've had much worse!

Cell phone preferences vary greatly from person to person. No one phone will make everyone happy; and I've found that a trial-and-error approach works the best for me. That, and asking everyone who has one what they like and dislike. You are bound to find someone who looks for the same features you require in a cell or home phone system. In addition to that, even if you're looking at phones on eBay, go to the store of the cell phone provider that you are going to use and test their phones and ask questions about any phones you are considering.

I bought this one to replace one I bought from Verizon that I absolutely hated because the computer never heard my voice commands correctly. I do like this one much better. From the review, it may sound like I do not like the phone, but I do. I am just very particular about electronic products, and may expect too much from them.

Good features of the RAZR:

1) Voice commands are seldom misunderstood by computer.
2) Clear, crisp sound...usually even when using the bluetooth.
3) Slim style fits nicely into pocket or purse.
4) It is sharp looking...get lots of people admiring it.
5) It has a fairly good camera...pretty clear pictures.
6) It has VCast capability...I do not use this feature so I cannot rate it.

Bad features include:

1) Battery life (even a new battery) is short...I have to recharge 2-3 times a week.
2) Keypad is a little harder to use because:
A) The backlight powers off too soon...cannot program it to stay on any longer.
B) The numbers are not raised so I have to use my fingernails to dial, which means that I cannot dial by touch; I always have to look.
C) The way the keypad is designed, the numbers do not appear to be in a row, making it confusing to look at.
3) Although the slim style has its advantages, it is also a disadvantage because I have to hold it tighter (when not using the bluetooth), and my hand cramps up.
4) I do not like any of the ring tones, but that may be because a phone I had a few years ago spoiled me with the variety...of which I liked many offered.

Motorola RAZR V3m

The Moto Razr V3 is expertly crafted to deliver exceptional performance. Inside the ultra-thin design are advanced features like MPEG4 video playback, Bluetooth® wireless technology, a digital camera and more. And with the precision-cut keypad, minimalist styling and metal finish, the V3 looks just as beautiful as it performs. The real difference is in the details. See who’s calling, in color, without opening your phone — the large internal display is complemented by an impressive external display. The precision-cut metal keypad reacts to the lightest of touches. And the features you can't always see are equally impressive, like quad-band GSM — for global calls where GSM network coverage and roaming agreements are present.Lire l'avis complet...

I'll have it till I'm 80

I've had about 4 of these phones.
Yes I've had to replace a couple because of malfunctioning, but I have loved the size of this phone for a long time and I've told many people I'll probably be 80 years old and still using these razrs (currently 29)

I currently have 2 in my possession so that if one dies I have a replacement, am thinking about buying a few more just to have.

Data phones are too bulky and I don't need anything but voice and texting (which it does very well with the intuitive iTAP Feature. Plus you don't have to lock your phone line you have to with cell phones that don't flip closed. so no pocket dialing. YEAH.

I also had razrs prior to this one and between the last razr I had and this one I had to switch to an LG with a slider keyboard. I used it for about 6 months and hated it. I'll stick to my Moto RAZR and so should you!
