Motorola Motonav Tn765t Reciever

I`ve had this Motorola Motonav TN765t now for a couple of weeks, and this unit is a sure winner!!!! It`s 5 inch screen is just brilliant! It also has all of the features that any serious gps operator would want, and is easy to use right out of the box. I also currently own a Magellan Maestro 4250, and 4700, I also have a Tom Tom 730xl, and this Motorola out performs them all, in my opinon. I have had gps`s for 8 years now, and have always been looking for the "perfect" one, and I do think that this is the one that fulfills what I`ve been looking for all of this time. It`s voice activated recognition is better than my other units, altho not perfect, but no gps actually is, this gps does recognize my voice commands better than my other ones. It comes with lifetime traffic, as long as your in a coverage area, and it recalulates a missed turn more rapidly than all of my other ones. It`s bluetooth capability works fine, and is perfect for hands free calling or answering an incoming call. Also, the 7 million POI`s is also pretty incredible. You can add addreses either manually on a keboard display on the screen, or you can use your voice, to find a particular restaurant, business, gas station, or just about anything else. If your "on the fence" about trying a Motorola gps, I would hope that this review will help you decide on maybe ordering one. I`m not the least bit disapointed with ANY of its functions, or accuracy so far, and I use it every single day. When in your vehicle, it "boots up" very quickly, and "locks" onto satelites very quickly, compared to my other units. I was quite hesitant at first, on ordering one of these. I spent a couple of weeks reading any/all reviews that I could find, and 99.9% of the prior reviews were of the positive nature, and because of that fact, that is why I opted to try one out. This model has been available for about one year, as Motorola is new in getting into the gps business. I DO hope Motorola success in thier future endevors in making gps devices, because I actually feel, Motorola has outdone themselves in this area. This unit, for me, is definately a "keeper", altho I hate the thought of retiring my Magellan units, as before now, I was a die hard Magellan fan!!Lire l'avis complet...

Great GPS, lots of options.

My favorite thing about this GPS is it turns my cell phone into a speaker phone, so I can answer or make a call without fumbling around with my phone. It will also read text messages to me.
The maps and directions have all been good, but I don't have any other GPS to compare it to, so can't put any advantage there. The maps show most major bodies of water, and minor ones too in populated areas. One kind of kewl feature is that the picture reflects the time of day...when driving at night, the background is black, light during the day.
One fairly negative thing is it's battery life which is around 2 hours or so. The DC auto adapter doesn't supply enough power to keep it charged, so you will need to charge it sooner or later, whether or not you use the adapter.
I bought this one mostly because I like the large screen size, and even though I know where I'm going most of the time, the fact it links to my blue tooth phone is almost worth the price!

After you get fed up with your Garmin, try this Big Screen baby

Alright, I want to set something straight at the onset. This is an intelligent GPS. There is a lot to it and I think it is fairly intuitive after you read the Quick Guide, which tells you to download the Owners Guide.

When you follow the bread crumbs you come up with an understanding of just how good the Motonola tn765t GPS really is. You also are given the reasons why Motorola motonav tn765t has ads pop up. Motorola gives you free (paid for by the ads) Traffic Services, forever.

Not convinced yet? Ok, First time newbies, go buy a Garmin, use it for awhile and then try the Motonav. You'll be a believer.

When you get good and experienced with it come back and get a really intelligent GPS. The Motonav runs circles around Garmin, feature after feature. Just read all three manuals (Yes, they are short but very informative) before you post your review. I think you will like it alot.

Motorola tn765t portable GPS

I did weeks worth of research on portable GPS units. I was told by those who owned this unit who had owned Magellans and Garmins both presently and i the past, that this was far superior to models in either of those names...and that any price below 200.00 was a bargain.

I have only owned factory installed units that came with the car and a Pioneer
in-dash nav that I absolutely loved.

I am very pleased with every feature on this tn765t. I would have the normal criticism that the volume is lower than I'd like it to be but the bluetooth works well, the voice recognition is as solid as can be expected and the traffic feature has helped me in two major situations within a week.

I have used the Bing dial ups just to see if they work and they do quite well. I did a weather update as well.

The best part is that the display is first class and has sharp, bright colors.
I would highly recommend this unit to those looking for the cut above the average GPS.

Updating the maps and BT/OS took ten minutes on the website and you get free updates for 60 days

Caution - take the unit out of the cradle and do not allow it to sit in the heat.
It causes the unit not to respond properly for a short while but it does recover.

Not sure it's worth the $

Great look, great features. Must have a bluetooth cell phone in order to use the Bing search, gas update & all other features, except traffic. I have yet to see anywhere in Motorola's advertising and write ups where they inform you of that. Map updates are $69.99 & up and the unit comes pre loaded with old outdated maps, forcing you to pay the $ to update. The built in 4gig memory is nice. The screen resolution is great. It comes with all the bells and whistles but, you have to pay to get them to chime. After buying and using 2 Insignia CNV20's, I thought I would upgrade to a high end name brand GPS. Not at all what I thought I was paying for. Retail price is way too high for a unit that requires more $ shelled out to get all the features functioning.Lire l'avis complet...

Rockin' unit!

I'll do my best to give a pertinent review here. I got the unit and needed it the next morning. It was intuitive enough for me to use it quite nicely - hence the ease of use rating. I did see the garmin's etc. and I believe that their screens are glossy - this is a more of a matte screen with Nice real estate and is Always visable with no reflection issues. It seems to have some really nice features although I have not used any of the pay for use features. I believe that this unit is a good value as well. The only down side which isn't a huge issue is that sometimes it's perhaps a 100 feet or so off in your final destination But it Does get you there and there is flexibility for the user to choose "highway" or "back road" routing. I haven't investigated this too much but it sounds good. It has nice features and I really like the comparatively large screen. It mounts easily and adjusts easily too.Lire l'avis complet...

very reliable and easy to use

We have had this GPS for 1 month now, we had a 4 year old high end Garmin. The Garmin worked very well and we were amazed at how well it worked. We checked out several new models and decided to try out the Motorola, It has been an eye opening experience, we are more than pleased at the advanced features of this new gps. It is very fast and we use google maps with pictures quite a lot. We appreciate the hands free cell phone capability also. We are very please with it.It has features we have'nt even tried yet. We would highly recommend this gpsLire l'avis complet...

5 star now if I could only give it 10 stars.

After getting my Motonav 765t from munchlaxfranco
from eBay, I found right out of the box this unit is awsome. Ease of setup ease of use. Took it out for a spin and works great. Also soon there will be an updated map but not sure when.
I opted for the 3 year internet bing google search
extras. Do your updates right away and down load the complete manual. To the people who are having problems, just take your time it is easy to use.

Good unit, get a good price, no map updates or support.

I've owned positioning equipment since Loran! The much more modern and precise GPS today do have a margin considering features versus cost. Usually you get what you pay for. Back to the Motonav. It's quite a good auto GPS with many of the most modern must haves, however. There are no map updates from Motorola and no support either. So, while being a great GPS with many features it pales against units that have "updates" of some sort. If cost is an issue and updates are not that important definitely get it at a good price and it should please you.Lire l'avis complet...

MotoNav from Motorola

The Motonav is a very good unit. The screen is bright and clear and it provides excellent information for your trip. It is easy to find where your going and places once you get there.
My only gripe is that the car mount covers the speaker and you can't hear it. But the bluetooth malfunctions hlaf the time anyway so you can't get phone calls so you won't really notice the speaker.Lire l'avis complet...
