Durable smartphone for the business-oriented person

This Android smartphone is great for those that want a mixture between a BlackBerry and a tough phone.

The main features of the Admiral are:
-Push to talk
-This phone is also built strong and is protected from dust, shock, vibration, solar radiation, low pressure and high and low temperatures
-QWERTY keyboard
-Touchscreen

Other key features of this device are:
-the 5-megapixel camera with flash
-3.5 MM headphone jack
-3G data
-FM radio
-This phone offers 9 hours of talk time and 79 hours of standby time
-Bluetooth, Mobile Hotspot and WI-FI
-Expandable memory up to 32 Gigs with a microSD card

The cons to this phone are:
-You can’t talk and surf at the same time
-The battery life is not as strong

Overall, this phone is similar to a BlackBerry, but much more durable.

Err on the side of reliability. buy the Motorola Admiral.

Solidly built phone good battery life and memory. The qwerty keboard is after the fashion of a blackberry feels a bit cramped and phone feels imballanced in ones hands while using it. There is a push to talk featue~button that is of no use to me as i do not have a direct connect plan; this button can be reprogrammed to open other programs. The Admiral is running an older version of Android software that is a bit slower and less intuitive than what I was used to from my previous phone an HTC shift.
This being said this Admiral is a good buy for the money, err on the side of reliability. buy the Motorola Admiral.

Great Little (aged) Android Phone

In my opinion this is a great, little, high quality Android phone with a (not quite) Blackberry keyboard. It has a good loud speaker and is a great speaker phone, has great voice recognition (which allows you to bypass the keyboard) and a clear, small screen. It's out of date (Android 2.3.x, 3G only) with a small screen (as mentioned), so this is not a phone for heavy Internet users, But my main use for a phone is calling and texting. I also use Simplenote (not supported on Android 2.3.x, but Glance Note syncs with Simplenote and works well) -- I can take notes via voice recognition and instantly sync them to my computer. Evernote works well (I use an older version), as well as Google Maps and GPS navigation. Voice Search works well -- I've installed Opera Mini (since it's lighter and faster than the built-in browser) and set it up as the default, and I read books via Kindle. So for under $10 and using cheap phone service from Twigby or Tello, this is an incredible bargain -- BUT for those who use a phone primarily as a phone. (I can even use the phone for tethering to my laptop.) Meant to mention -- if you get one of these, I would suggest buying the Protech Shell for protection -- it also makes the phone easier to grip.Lire l'avis complet...

Underrated smartphone

One of the best smartphones out there! If you ever talk on your cellphone, this one is far superior to most. Earpiece voice quality is awesome; clear and loud. Speakerphone is clear and loud. It is front firing. (very few made this way). Texting keyboard is small but its a good one. Has a good virtual keyboard as well. Pulls in a good Motorola quality signal. Overall a great looking, perfectly sized, well made professional quality device. If I have just one cell phone, this is it for me.Lire l'avis complet...

Seperate yourself from the iphone herd and look at this phone

Having had a TREO for years, this is the first phone I could say that is better than that. The portrait keyboard is the most important feature to me. Blackberry's lack a touchscreen, there is very little choice. I've been through Touch Pro 2, Arrive (windows 7) and the XPRT. This is far better than the XPRT.

The screen is bright, the glass is silky, wet and smooth to the touch. Responsive, easy to use. The keyboard is right on.

I am on the phone 6 hours a day, the battery life is great, I still carry a spare, but haven't needed it yet. Call quality and reception is excellent.

Nice design, but fails to be reliable when trying to place a call

At first I was happy with this phone since I had such poor performance with my Kyocera Rise. I love it's "blackberry" style design and the touch screen is usually pretty responsive and smooth. The only failing is that when I try to make a simple phone call either by dialing or from my call history screen, there is a several minute DELAY before the call finally is dialed. This is VERY frustrating!! Especially when trying to squeeze in a call or two during my break or lunch at work. The main reason I have a phone is to be able to place a phone call. But for this purpose the Motorola Admiral XT603 has been a miserable failure. Additionally when texting, it often will not type into the text box when trying to use the physical keyboard and I have to reboot it to get it to input characters correctly. My wife was having the same problems with the exact same model that we purchased for her. I have now gone back to my LG Lotus dumbphone.Lire l'avis complet...

three for the price of two

this is more of an all purpose gadget than a smartphone, phone, or tablet. I ordered this one when the charging port/plug broke on my original one, same device, mine was a slightly newer version. The one i ordered here works great, tho the keyboard lags when typing sometimes, which is how i realized they were different versions. Not a big deal tho, just a tad slower. but its an old phone anyway so there are many versions of it by now. definately not a smartphone for the inexperienced, and you must know your basics and advanced to make the most of it, but it does everything, even without a service plan. I use it for computer modem (wifi or service), typing (keyboard is awesome), gaming (up to playststion emulation), music (good speakers), art/photo (nice view), storage (upgrade to 5gb for $20 chip (or better), and can swap batteries/sd card w/ my broken one, so its three for the price of two, basically. great phone, my first smartphone, and I may never switch. motorola is the best, btw, especially when they develop gadgets like this.Lire l'avis complet...

We use it as simple backup phone- perfect!

Got it for a simple house phone for my son to use and a backup. Went through Kajeet service which is a Sprint company. $7/mo! Perfect for our needs. We don't have Internet on it so can't comment there. Bright display. Good older model.Lire l'avis complet...
