Great game; def a little wear and tear on the box and manual. Overall, solid purchase.

Cartridge and game is great; play is just as expected. The included manual and case were in okay shape (perhaps hard to tell the exact quality from the listing pictures).

I love the classics, and growing up I never had a Sega Genesis so this game completed my experience on my retro console, always was a mortal Kombat fan since the original game that I also got

Mortal Kombat 2-Great

Mortal Kombat 2 for the Genesis is a marvel to the series. It differs from the Super Nintendo in the following ways: #1 The Genesis Title Music is in the right place
#2 The Super Nintendo has a two second pause when the announcer says "FIGHT!"
#3 The Genesis version explodes with special features in a cheat menu
#4 Rayden has a secret finisher on the Genesis version
#5 The annoying floating Shadow Priest in the tower is removed on the Genesis
#6 The organs in Rayden and Shang Tsung's fatalities are more realistic on Sega
#7 The characters look more hand-drawn on Nintendo
#8 The Gameplay on Sega is more like Mortal Kombat, quick and deadly
#9 The fatalities are easier to do on Sega.

It was complete and worked perfectly

I just recently got a super retro trio and have always wanted to play the OG mortal Kombat games. Once I got it I put in the cartridge and read the booklet for character moves. It worked perfectly

A Great Addition to Any Collection

Mortal Kombat II was something I first played in 1996. I was shocked by two things:
1. The blood. I had never seen so much blood in a game before, and I had certainly never seen anything like the Fatalities.
2. How much the game improved since the first Mortal Kombat. It's like playing Super Mario Bros. one minute, then turning around and being immersed in Mario 64. The graphics are much improved, the character roster is doubled, and there's much more blood.

Needless to say, my 6-year-old mind was blown away by both of these. I started playing and instantly found myself a huge fan. The game's effect on my perception of gaming was huge, to the point that I don't even know if I'd be playing now were the first two Mortal Kombat games never invented. I'd probably have missed out on most of my favorite things in life, if my cousin hadn't owned a Genesis and Mortal Kombat II.

Fast forward, it's 2009 and I order this game. To my surprise, it's still as much fun as it was in 1996! And that's how you know a classic.Lire l'avis complet...

One of the best games in one of the best series of video games of all time!

Where would fighting games today be without this game?! This game inspired a generation of young gamers to play video games even harder; building great eye hand cordination and memory skills. From fighting allies by yourself to fighting the last two bosses with skills learned from friends, adrenaline and fun is twisted together like the stripes of a candy cane making it one sweet game! And that wonderful feeling when the words "Finish Him!" and "FATALITY!" are spoken is unforgetable being just the relief you need after all that you put forth to being victorious. This game can be adjusted to your preferences. The controls, difficulty, and other options can be suited to your liking as you climb the ladder to success.
