Great debut album from a great folk singer!
Mixed Bag is Richie Havens recording debut from 1967 and it's wonderful. His voice is somewhere between classic soul and urban folk...raw and full of emotion. I especially like his take on The Beatle's - Eleanor Rigby and Bob Dylan's - Just Like a Woman. I remember seeing him circa 1999 at a small restaurant/pub in upstate NY. I met him after the show and he was a pleasure to talk to. I bought this CD after I heard segments of it on a website and I also wanted something to remember him by (he passed away on April 22, 2013). RIP Richie Havens, the memory of your music is eternal!Lire l'avis complet...
Solid Havens CD
At his best. Good song selection to display his amazing vocal and instrumentalist talents.
Richie Havens Heaven
Must have recording for any Richie Havens fan. These tracks were all recorded prior to Woodstock and Richie’s rise to fame. Great stuff!!

Mixed Bag - Richie Havens
R.H.'s best studio album, though Ilike select cuts off other albums. Clean production. Sandy, Three Day Eternity are some standouts. Just Like a Woman great, but I've heard it too many times. Drumming is tastful. Before R. got his teeth fixed, so you can still hear the whistle in his teeth during elocution, adds a unique style.Lire l'avis complet...
Richie Havens: Mixed Bag
Set in the 60's when the Viet Nam war was in full force, Richie Havens was the voice of protest. Most of his songs have a message and are backed by his hard driving guitar and raspy thought invoking voice. Put on this album and you will drift back to the 60's when you either stood for a cause or were a drop out or flower child. I am telling my age by saying album instead of CD. And yes I have the original album!Lire l'avis complet...
Mixed Bag-Richie Havens
This is a great CD,evry bit as good as the original "60"s album which I also have!!! I'm sure if you liked the original, you will enjoy this one,it's Richie Haven's at his best.
A great record!
One of the most important folk-rock records of the 1960s, a classic. Everyone should have a copy. By one of the most interesting artists of his era.
