Great informative book for any microphone user
Excellently written book which should be read and its principles applied by any one doing the FOH mix whether for a band, the High School play, church, or any other PA or professional audio work. (or audio recording work)
The author is perhaps best know by those in the broadcast or recording circles as the fellow who used to drive nails with an EV 664 (or was it the 665?) and the 635 as well as his excellent technical skills when he worked for Electro-Voice.
The book is not brand specific nor is it obsolete when using todays microphones. All the principles still apply. Microphone design and application and specifications are all presented with just enough technical information to keep things interesting without loosing the reader on tons of engineering information, math or other theoretical materials.
This book and the one by John Eargle will provide any audio enthusiast, student of audio engineering or an engineer with plenty of information in order to choose and use the best microphone for any specific application.
Hands-on use of microphones and sound equipment is still a requirement, but the books will get you off to a good start on proper microphones and their applications.Lire l'avis complet...
