I love the gospel music. I am not a country, rock or any other type music person. Gospel is ALL i listen to. I got to attend a Gaither concert recently and I was in my seventh HEAVEN. This is an experience like no other. I got to talk to Janet Pascal and a few other of the singers. it was a wonderful concert, and I felt like I was walking on air when I left. Just wish they would have more concerts close by, and sooner. I could not understand why the Hopper Brothers and Connie was not there as they live soo close. I wonder sometimes if there is jealousy between the singers as there is in most facets of life. I hope not as they seem to be so genuine and show a love for the Lord and there is such a great witness in the concerts. I would be greatly dissappointed if I found this to be true. I do know that YEARS ago, all was not what it appeared to be with the singers. my husband was a JAYCEE and most of these were Jaycee sponsered.......I found out a lot about what went on that I would have preferred not to know as a fact. I do know also that when the Oak Ridge Boys were singing, our pastor had a run in with them in a restaurant.....and they were not very nice....this was Duane Allen and the long haired hippie (I forgot his name)......but in the days of Smitty Gatlin and the little blond headed tenor (forgot his name also.....( think the spirit was real...........and there was no pretese. I did get to attend a concert at a church in Oak Island NC 2 years ago with the Blackwoods quartet. They started at 7pm and it was not supposed to last but about an hour. They sund till 10 pm and everyone had a wonderful time. I, of course, have favorite singers (many have passed on and are not here) but we can still enjoy their singing because of the recordings left behind.
