Fun, Great For Multiple People of all ages

this is a great game especially if you are into the mario party sequels that keep coming out. this one has a particular twist with keeping everyone together (versus all over the board) in a vehicle with one driver switching off as the captain (maintains certain advantages in mini games). There are a few unlockables that get released once the solo game is beat and poses somewhat of a challenge. there are also more unlockables in the "museum" of the game which allows you to unlock things with points that are achieved by playing different multiplayer boards. Fun for all ages that can understand the basic controls which are instructed before each mini game. If you are a pro at mario party games then there is even a master level difficulty that makes it a challenge for even the best of the best. most maps are 30 min-60 mins depending on how many players and how long the mini games go for.
For those of you looking for more of a Q&A review type:
-I bought this product because I have played mario party before and like the board game interaction and knew my wife would enjoy it as well with my kid when he is old enough.
-the only thing i dislike is that the unlockables are in a way lacking and I hoped for more boards to be able to play other than 8. price is still pretty high for a wii game but its worth it.
-compared to others it is different but similar. i would still buy it even if i had all the other mario party games. the mini games in this are so much fun.

Pretty Fun.

I've played many Mario Parties. This is the first one I have played on the Wii.

The largest difference has to be that everyone progresses through the game board at the same time. Every player takes a turn being the captain driving some sort a vehicle around the game board. This keeps the game very straight forward and cuts back on the amount of times each player takes looking at the map and trying to figure out where to go.

Another great aspect is this game fools you into thinking that you are working together. There is still a winner at the end of the round and you still want to beat your friends and family at every mini game, but the story put forth in each board makes the game feel as if it is a collective effort to get to the end.

Having everyone as a winner is great for my two 4 year old nephews because when one loses a game the other rubs it, which normally leads to a fight or arguing. Now everyone can be satisfied by beating the boss at the end of the board, even if you lost.

A Welcome Addition to the Mario Party Series, Welcome NDCube.

This is a welcome addition to the Mario Party line. It takes the old format and changes it COMPLETELY. Winning mini games doesn't guarantee winning, and luck is an element to it, but also there is plenty of skill involved as well. The deck is stacked when facing the bad guy since Bowser JR has his own space alongside his big bad dad Bowser, and playing solo mode you have one or two players playing on Bowser's behalf. The boards are all different and have their unique elements like boards always have in Mario Party. It's a very fun game and doesn't take forever to play either, although there are indeed lots of things to do in this game. I recommend it to people looking for a new direction in Mario Party, because this shows that the new developer, NDCube, has potential.Lire l'avis complet...

A New Style of Mario Party Boards!

Unlike the MP 8 which had boring lame boards you just went though just for the motions, this game is fun and interesting. And unlike its Gamecube predecessors, you dont have every trick and scam in the book to screw over the board and everyone else! Plus you dont mini games crammed down your throat every time someone somewhere on the board moves, which was really irritating and annoying, it is just the right mix of mini games, team and enemy collaboration, crazy changes, mini and end board bosses, and more! In several ways, I'm kind of mad I bought Mario Party 8 instead of this one first, as there is no comparison really... its just that good!Lire l'avis complet...

Good for cooperative gameplay but bad for competitive gameplay

I bought this game quite a while ago and since then have only played it a handful of times. I have only tried Party mode for the game so I have not done an in-depth playthrough of the game but in my opinion it's the weakest game in the Mario Party Franchise that I've played.

The gameplay isn't necessarily bad and it does offer a unique take on the way Mario Party is played. However Party mode has you work as a team and loses the competitive aspect of the game which has made the series so much fun for me and my friends.

Overall not a bad game, worth a try if you're a die-hard Mario fan or want to play a cooperative game with younger kids. Not great for competitive gamers or if you're looking to play a game with your friends that is competitive, Mario Party 8 is a much better game for the latter.

A new twist to mario party!

If you're a true mario party fan then you won't mind the small differences between this one and the others! You'd think that riding around in one vehicle with the other players is boring but with all of the new boards and mini games added to this game, makes it worth it. Give it a try!Lire l'avis complet...

This is still Mario Party, though not everyone will like the new changes.

Fans of previous Mario Parties will find this latest title a bit different than its predecessors. One of the largest differences you'll notice is that everyone travels together. The good thing about this is that it is less of a wait for everyone to take turns, and 1st time players won't get lost on the map and not know where everyone is. The bad thing is that you can't really use items to kind of hurt the other players as much. Though you can set the person after you up for an unfavorable event, but it isn't the same as before.

Another large difference is the factor of luck. Again, may or may not be a good thing. It doesn't matter if you are the MVP of mini games, you won't always win. Also many mini games are based on luck. The reason why I say this is good is that everyone is going to be at different skill levels. It won't be fun for everyone if the same person keeps on winning everything. Imagine playing a basketball game with Lebron James. Won't be too fun if he is going to own you every game. I think it balances the game more and it acts like a wild card factor. Everyone has a chance to win.

Kids love the short mini games, very fun and easy to play for all ages

My young kids absolutely love this game. The short mini-games are easy for them to understand and play, intuitive controls (although pointing the wii remote at the screen can be a challenge for them some times, but they eventually get it) Fun for the family!Lire l'avis complet...

Great game

It took me awhile to get the hang of being in one vehicle but it’s a lot of fun. The mini games are super fun and I love the game. Highly recommended for more than one player. A lot of fun.
