Easy to read and covers all topics of makeup artistry.
This book is the best on makeup that I have ever read. It was highly recommended to me by a hair stylist and makeup artist. The area of makeup contouring is spot on. The diagram is perfect and contour and blush applied properly takes years off ones appearance. With a weight loss program in place, this is great for "faking it til you make it" and I recommend this book to anyone who has an interest and the desire to become the best of oneself.Lire l'avis complet...

great book full of techniques for the entire face. It also comes with ways to do example from pictures in the book as well as some basic iconic stlyes such as the vamp, starlett, and things of that nature. I liked the book but my only complaint would be that there wasn't much color in the looks it teaches. Mostly browns and blacks but one could always change that when doing your own look. I think its a great book and perfect for beginners/intermediate makeup wearers but not as inspiring to those who like more color. But for technique, its great.Lire l'avis complet...
Fantastic Book!
This book was written in deatil by a fantastic makeup artist, Kevin Aucoin. His tips and makeup techniques truely stand up throught the test of time. If you are a new makeup artist or even one that has been around, everyone should read this book. He gives great instructions and it is easy to read. The photos are outstanding. The celebrities that he transforms in some of the photos you can hardly believe your eyes.
I being a makeup artist wanted to review this book that I read many years ago. I really wanted to see how I was doing in comparison to his techniques. I also wanted to know more about period makeup and old hollywood tricks of the trade.
It is very sad that he isn't around today, it would have been great continue to see what he was doing next.Lire l'avis complet...

Make-up Advice
I absolutely loved the book "Making Faces," not only was it helpful in showing and explaining about the different areas of the face and how to put make-up on but at the end it gave great examples of famous "faces" or looks and explained how to create them. My only regret was that the author did not go into detail about what products are best and where to find them.Lire l'avis complet...
