Great Product
This DVD/VHS player/recorder allows you to watch what you want when YOU want to watch. Free yourself from the mind-numbing effects of live TV! Also watch commercial DVDs or VHS tapes, or use the dubbing capability of the machine to store those VHS tapes on DVD.
If you live in a city, the reception off an indoor antenna is excellent: rid yourself of the cost of cable and the dozens of channels you never watch.
If you have an analog TV, you can connect the D/V recorder/player to the TV using RCA
cables for playback of recorded TV programs or simply use the recorder/player in DTV/TV mode to serve as a digital tuner for my analog TV and thus watch live TV on all the local channels.
If you have cable TV service, you can connect the machine directly to your cable.
The instruction manual is thorough, and after you have programmed the machine a time or two, it's a simple product to use.
One slight limitation is that you cannot record two simultaneous TV programs, only one after another. If that is a significant limitation for you, buy two machines.
The machine is very durable and trouble-free. One in the same series has functioned trouble-free for over 6 years.
Highly recommended!Lire l'avis complet

Great product
This product is designed to play and copy home VCR tapes onto DVD. Does this pretty well if your home tapes are in good shape. Easy to use remote.

A great DVD with tuner; it can do most everything for today's TVs!
What I like about this machine is that when it is set up on 1080p and sent to the TV via an HDMI cord, old "pillarbox" (fullscreen) TV shows and DVDs and most widescreen (1:85) TV shows and DVDs fill up the entire screen; i.e. no black bars on the sides or on the top and bottom. Also when set on 1080p the sound is much more distinct via bitstream. And, there are added plusses of dubbing old VHS tapes onto a DVD and vice versa, and setting up to record off different channels instead of just one, but most especially, *no separate tuner box and remotes are required!* Adding and deleting channels are easily done right through this unit!
The only debits? Sometimes, the remote can be a little confusing to understand (before purchasing, though, I got the manual from Funai's website, so that does help explain things). Also, not sure of how to set exactly back to normal after timer recording yet, but somehow managed to do so (I may contact Funai for more info on this).
But, all in all, this machine is the answer to my prayers! I'm very happy with it!Lire l'avis complet

A good product
I bought this product to replace an exact duplicate that I previously owned. When we received it, it was packaged and protected very well. Has all the features I needed.

Sometimes old is better than new
If your parent lives in a retirement community with a limited in-house cable system that consists of only a cable wire coming out of the wall, then you need a built-in tuner if you're going to put the cable directly into the DVD/VCR. This unit has that. And if the unit dies, you have to try to get exactly the same model as a replacement so the aged parent (age 94) does not have to learn how to use a new system. I hope this explains why anyone would purchase an old DVD/VCR combo unit. Sometimes old is better.Lire l'avis complet

Perfect unit
This machine operates exactly as advertised. It was easy to set up and makes good DVD copies of video cassettes. The remote provided with the unit works perfectly. I am very satisfied.

works good
Unit is clean and work well. The DVD part is a little picky, and only likes certain discs. Not too big a deal though. Happy with it
