Thinking it would be easier to see, I bought a large screen one, another brand. It was useless. Not only a gps it came with memory dedicated to music, photos, games and other stuff. Not mentioned in the ad. It was slow and hard to use junk. I threw it away. Then, I bought this one because I had an inexpensive Magellan for years and it was great. I realize the screen size isn't important now. This one is even better. Easy to navigate with, excellent map graphics make it easy to see. Simple to enter addresses. It's all you need. Also it isn't blocking the windshield and isn't so heavy it falls off. I'd buy this again. Fast and easy to read. The best. I'd recommend it.Lire l'avis complet...

Magellan Roadmate 1200 entry level GPS

This is my first GPS, but I am well pleased with the product so far. I researched the various brands and models before I did my e-Bay shopping and decided this would be a good unit for me. It lives up to its billing of being simple to use and I was able to start using it before reading the owner's manual, as advertised.

There are units with many more features and probably with better display, but this unit seems to do the job for me.

Magellan Roadmate 1200 GPS

I purchased a Magellan Roadmate 1200 Car GPS recently and like it very much. Even though it has a small 3.5 inch square screen, it is a very capable unit for the price(around $100). The voice announces the next turn in plenty of time and is very easy to understand. The only thing I would like to see is a power cord for home. This is my second Magellan GPS. Great Basic GPS

As first year college student out of state,I was needing something that could get me from point A to point B during those breaks when students get kicked out of the dorm rooms. This did the trick perfectly! With its ability to recalculate when i miss a turn within a few seconds, I never had to pull to the side of the road to re-route like i had to using Google maps on my phone. The voice telling you when to turn is great when you're on the road; no more stress and taking your eyes off of the road ahead of you to frantically look at each street sign to make sure that wasn't the turn. Satellite signal has been great, and I have yet to be in an area where I could not get signal. Touch screen is responsive, and I've never had a problem. Battery life was also a surprisingly (to me) long 4 hours.

Though I wish this had the ability to customize the voice, "car" symbol, and such, it's certainly not necessary,and the Magellan RoadMate 1200 does what it's made to do. A great basic GPS to meet your needs.Lire l'avis complet...

Solid, cheap, gps

Gets me where I need to go simply and efficiently. Screen's a tad small, but all the information is presented logically and clearly. I like that you can set it to show icons of points of interest on the map, it makes looking for rest stops, gas stations, and restaurants off the highway as easy as zooming out. The location of my car is often off by a block randomly, but if you continue to follow the street names it says, it'll eventually catch back up with you.Lire l'avis complet...

Wouldn't go on vacation to unknown spots without it !!

Since purchasing a Magellan 1200 automotive GPS receiver, no longer have to look at state maps for directions - -just type in address and GPS does the rest including miles and time to get there - -easy to follow and use - -stops having to look at road maps all the time to determine routes - -GPS does it all for you including fastest time and shortest route - -if you travel often, well worth the expense!Lire l'avis complet...

I am satisfied with my purchase. The item looks brand new and works great. I like that it has a smaller screen because it fits in my new car perfectly!

short life

I bought this for my husband and he used it a total of three times and now the thing wont turn on, tried charging for a day plus but it still acts as if its not getting any power. i have tried everything to get the thing working again but it wont turn on. if you want something that will last a long time i can tell you this is probably not the ideal product for you.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice, inexpensive Mobile GPS

The Roadmate 1200, is a compact mobile GPS. What it does, it does well. Address to address routing is accurate and quick. It reroutes you quickly too. It doesn't have text to speech, but that is a minor inconvenience as it displays a close up of the turn on it's display as you approach the turn. I also does not so off road, so it isn't much use for geocaching. I still think it is a good, solid and inexpensive choice for people who only want GPS in their car.Lire l'avis complet...
