Universal Bore Guide considerations

This is a great item to have when cleaning your rifle to keep bore solvents out of the trigger group. It is universal so the guides are not always the best match in diameter to the cleaning rod you are using. It is not a big deal to make up inserts to match the specific cleaning rod to the bore guide and to the rifle. This is a high quality item. The handle unscrews easily so if your rifle scope is in the way, the handle can be removed and replaced to clear the scope. There may be a couple of rifles that this guide won't fit, the Savage MkII comes to mind, so a careful examination of the pictures of the guide and the rifles it is intended for is a good idea. Lyman bore guide set is an excellent value and this type system is recommended for rifle barrels

Good but not for the Savage B22 rifle.

Very easy to use on most bolt action rifles. However, it will not fit a Savage B22 rifle in 22LR. The action is simply too small to allow the adapters and bore guide tube to be inserted. No problems on other larger caliber bolt action rifles and it should last a long time.Lire l'avis complet...

Works well!

Works pretty well on both my bolt action rifles and AR's. There may be better guides but this one has work so far on every gun I have used it on.

Make new rubber tips to fit these weapons

This guide is well built, made of metal. However, it will not work with a Savage mk11 rifle and will not work with the Ruger Rimfire Precision Rifle. The rubber tip is too large to fit these rifles.

Lightweight and easy to use

This bore guide seats easily and keeps any cleaning solution out of the breech.
It makes for a cleaner job. Dont know why I didnt get one sooner!

Good bore guide

I purchased this bore guide set because it will work on the very small calibers, including .17. Though I have other similar bore guides, they only fit down to .22. Lyman makes good products so I have no problem there.Lire l'avis complet...
