The Two Towers: A Great Game for a Great Movie

This game is a classic PS2 adventure for any fan of the Lord of the Rings series, both book and/or movie trilogy. I remember this being one of the first games I had as a kid. While the gameplay is very standard for the PS2; you hack and slash you way through various middle-earth themed enemies from orcs and uruk-hai to the deathly Nazgul, utilizing button mashing combos along the way to maximize the damage dealt; it is a great game and has that iconic LOTR charm to it. The game takes scenes directly from the Two Towers movie produced by Peter Jackson and has them morph into the actual game events. Since these cut scenes are involved, the game largely follows the portrayal of the series exactly as it was in the Peter Jackson film, with the eventual option of more character choices once you have completed the game. The game also includes various behind-the-scenes works, and features some of the movie stars and their personal experiences with the Two Towers game, which I thought was pretty interesting, and also kind of hilarious.

So to recap; this is a great game for anyone who had a blast with the Peter Jackson film and who still has a PS2 to run this bad boy on. It's a wonderful, nostalgic experience to go back and play this game once more, such as I did when I was a little kid. Overall, I would give it a rating of 4/5.

LOTR: Two Towers review.

I am a fan of games that blend cinema style play with game play itself. Now games like Until Dawn and the Quarry do this, but Lord of The Rings: the Two Towers did it well in its own right. The game is packed with power ups, challenges and characters you can beef up. And the actors themselves lent their voices to the characters you play. This makes the experience all the more fun because you're playing the movie through these tools. The game is well rounded and entertaining. It's great and fun nostalgia!Lire l'avis complet...

EXCELLENT

This game is awesome!! It starts kinda in the fellowship and leads to where the two towers goes in the movies. It is alot better than the first lord of the rings game which was not made by EA Games by the way. And is a blast to play. The graphics are done very well and the game play in my opinion is tremendous. I bought this game for only $7.95 and it was factory sealed and an original release. I love this purchase and wish I came across more like it. I would refer this game to anyone wanting to or interested in purchasing it!!Lire l'avis complet...

Fun RPG for hard core gamers

This turn based rpg game takes on a different perspective of the Lord of the rings trilogy. It brings together a completely different set of characters behind the visible cast of the movies.

The great part about this game is the path these characters take, following the fellowship but always helping them from afar ( but sometimes directly). There isn't anything about this game I do not like; it plays smooth, the graphics are great for it's time, and the gameplay is terrific.

So far I've beaten this game 3 times many years a go, but i thought i would pick it up once more, and enjoy it a few more times. this is a must buy for any true lord of the rings fan!

The title was one of the top selling console titles of 2002 and 2003

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a 2002 cross-platform video game based on Peter Jackson's New Line Cinema films The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. The title was one of the top selling console titles of 2002 and 2003[citation needed] and was widely praised for its seamless transitions from actual film footage to interactive game play.IGN, rated the PS2, Xbox and GameCube versions 8.3, 7.6 and 8.0, respectively, they noted the vivid graphics, the well-implemented beat em' up gameplay, the RPG-style elements and the transition from FMV to in-engine cutscenes, in terms of flaws, they noted that the game was actually hard, that the Xbox version was the same as PS2 and there were only 4 characters to choose, but in conclusion was lasting due to its extras and leveling up. Despite rating it .3 less than the PS2 original, they concluded that GameCube was the best version.Lire l'avis complet...

LOTR rocks

Electronic Arts released one of its biggest movie-to-videogame conversions during the holiday season of 2002 with The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. Taking players on an epic quest, based on the modern cinema trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, The Two Towers delivers intense, large-scale action with tons of swordplay and all the trimmings of learning through experience. The more than 12 levels are directly taken from scenarios and events that appeared in the first two first films and EA added a smattering of bonus content on top of it, including interviews with all the principal actors, stills, trailers, and more.Lire l'avis complet...

Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers

I find that even with today's technology, many very lame video games are being marketed. This holds especially true with fantasy games. However, the Lord of The Rings trilogy is a wonderful exception. Though the first game, The Fellowship of the Rings is completely lame as are many fantasy games, as I previously stated, The Two Towers, is a magnificent standout in the world of video gaming. My first day with this game I couldn't readily tell when the movie shorts ended and the game began. Once that hurdle was jumped, I found the game to be very challenging. Another truly fantastic part of The Two Towers, is it actually follows the movie story line. I don't think I could be more excited about a game as I am about this one. If you are a true Lord of the Rings fan, a true diehard, then rest assured this game will not disappoint you. In fact, I believe you'll be thrilled.Lire l'avis complet...

Great game!!!

I usually play sports games but i love lord of the rings so i purchased this game!!! I felt this game had great graphics. The orcs are hard to kill and the trolls are even harder. It follows the movie characters better than any movie game i've ever played. I'm at the last level and i can't beat the thousands of orcs!!! You can play as man, elf or dwarf!!! Buy the game right now if your a lord of the rings fan!!!Lire l'avis complet...
