A Chinese take on Red Riding Hood--
This book is a tale of a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing. When Mom goes to visit Popo (grandmother), she leaves her cleverest, eldest child in charge. However, with two siblings, the eldest has a bit of a problem keeping things under control. Despite warnings not to open the front door, the kids let in a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing. Being the resourceful kids they are, the three manage to lure the wolf to the top of a gingko tree where he eventually falls to his death.
What's great about the book is that it helps kids learn to make connections between books. Although it is not the tale of red riding hood, it is a nice book to make comparisons with. Kids can see the similarities between the two and compare them. For this reason, it's a great book to use in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade language arts classrooms when kids are learning to make text to text connections.Lire l'avis complet...
My kids enjoyed it.
My children loved this book when they were little. I ordered it for my daughter to read to her children.

Lon Po Po by Ed Young (1996, Paperback, Reprint)
A great deal and quick service--This book is sort of a Red Riding Hood kind of story-but is intriguing to children--some may find it scary-but most children, are not upset by a little suspense, as long as the good guys win!Lire l'avis complet...

Lon Po Po
New twist on Little Red Riding Hood. Love the story of three sisters who outsmart the wolf. Illustrations are outstanding.
