One of the Yanni classics - a must have for every fan !

This is a DVD of one of the best recordings I had the pleasure to listen to. Nestled in the theater on the bottom of the Acropolis in Athens Greece, Yanni and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra created a true masterpiece of musical recording. Not only by the quality of the music itself, but also by the superb quality of the recording. Life recordings usually come along with some background and static noises even if in ever so small increments within them, but here the music is all you listen to - until the applause sets in and seems to be integral part of this great work of art.

Yanni and the solo artists of the orchestra create musical fireworks from the slowest to the fastest passages of the music, utilizing sounds from Yanni's native Greece ( even though reproduced on today's keyboards ) combined with string, horn and drum arrangements from contemporary music - and mixed with a big shot of classical music for a good measure.

If you are a Yanni fan you know it already, but if not this is the one CD/DVD I would recommend to anybody - from classical fan to new age music buff, from rocker to reggae fan - it's about one hour of listening pleasure that gets better every time you listen to it again. Even after years of knowing it you will find every time you listen there are a few little things that you notice during another hour of sheer listening pleasure. A Must Have

Yanni Live At The Acropolis is a must have for any Yanni collection. This DVD, and same titled CD, was recorded live when he performed in his home country of Greece. There is a certain magic and acoustic quality of this concert that makes this my all time favorite in my entire Yanni collection. The orchestra backup for this concert is the Royal Philharmonic, by far an orchestra of excellence.

I've recently read on his official website that he has teamed up with an Oscar/Grammy award winning record producer and is about to embark in an entirely new direction with his world famous music. It appears that they will be adding opera quality singers to some of his former instrumentals, as well as many of his soon to be released new pieces. Love this guy music.

I never have music dvd that is so good. I listen to it all day long. Yanni is so talented and i see instrument that I never see before. I don't where he finds his musician they also very talented.

If you love to see and hear great musical talent perform, this DVD is worth owning.

The actual video production is a bit grainy (old 480P standard) but the sound is fantastic. Some of the artists performing with Yanni at the Acropolis are second to none!
