Well it's Van Halen so it has to be good ! Actually the concert is fine, but the sound quality is lacking. Maybe because of the age of the DVD and the recording equipment that was used at that time ? Van Halen rocks!

I was very impressed with the video. Didn't really like Mike Anthony's bass solo, a little out there! Over all very much enjoyed it! Eddie is and always will be amazing! Would have liked to see a few other songs that Sammy put out with VH. It's worth the money to buy.Lire l'avis complet...

Guitar player heaven!

As someone who was lucky enough to have grown up during the hard rock/metal golden years, I was a Van Halen fan. After taking up the guitar at 15 (1981) I came to realize just how amazing Eddie Van Halen is as a musician and Van Halen quickly became my favorite band. Edwards style is so unorthodox that I (like many other guitar players) had a hard time figuring out just how he did all the amazing things on the guitar. For many years it was a mystery....until this show came out on VHS and now DVD. If you are a guitar player and EVH fan, this DVD will quickly become your Bible. You can see how Edward creates many of the sounds he is famous for (many are very simple, but impossible to figure out until you see them.) Things like the Mean Street intro, lots of tapping licks, cool tap harmonics and finger positions are clearly shown. For the guitar secrets alone the DVD is easily worth the price. The show itself is a great look at how entertaining and talented Sammy is (the best voice in rock) and has the classic Van Halen moments we have all come to expect (Michael's Jack Daniels bass solo, Alex wailing throughout, Eddie mastery of all aspects of the guitar, Sammy's funny talks in between and during songs, etc.) If you are a Van Halen fan, this DVD is a MUST HAVE. By far, the best live show they have put out comercially (much better then the Right Here Right Now show.) Van Halen fans...BUY THIS DVD...you will not be disappointed. A great show!

Great representation of a band that was giving it all they had. Too bad Sammy just couldnt hang in there. Eh I was a fan of VH before and was a fan of Sammy before...hell I was even a DLR fan at some point...but the difference between the two is like trying to figure out that one math problem that you just could not figure out,hehe. DLR and Eddie are real annoying, but Eddie is still my favorite guitarist and probably will be forever. I had the chance to see them on the 5150 tour which is still one of those rare delights.Lire l'avis complet...

Guitarist's Dream Lesson

This is some of EVH's best playing on DVD. Previously, EVH's performance of 'Hot For Teacher' (with Jan Hammer) on the video 'Les Paul and Friends' was one of his best performances on video, but this DVD tops that handsomely. With VERY lengthy instrumental solos (never too long, in my opinion), the band is in excellent form and the songs are first rate hard rcok. While personally I prefered DLR to Sammy Hagar, the latter's performance here is quite good and adds to a great concert experience. Highly recommended to anyone who likes the band's body of work, and absolutely essential for any rock guitarist. Unless you already know how (i.e., have the chops) to play everything recorded here (which I seriously doubt), get this DVD now!Lire l'avis complet...

I been waiting to get my own dvd of them since I saw them in ‘81. This one is post DLR material and that’s not really what I wanted to see even though I knew in advance. Plenty of pure VH action.
