Lilo & Stitch, a great family friendly movie

INTRO:
I have decided to buy this because I have 3 young kids and I try to rent/buy alot of kids movies. This is a great movie. It has nice Elvis Presley music and it teaches how to take care of a pet and shows how to have friendship.

THE GOOD
It all starts out when Lilo has noone to play with and wants a pet. She goes to a pet store and find Stitch, which she thinks is a weird dog, but he is really a animal from outer space. They become good friends and they try to find a great dance that Lilo can do for her lual

THE BAD
A social worker named Cobra Bubbles (Ving Rhames) is monitoring Nani's (Lilo's 21 year old sister because there parents dies in a acar crash) progress, as he is concerned that her parenting techniques do not meet the standards required to raise a child and Cobra's organization is considering putting Lilo into foster care. Nani is fearful of this, as Lilo is the only family she has left, and vice versa. Lilo doesn't help, as she doesn't really know what may happen.

THE END:
Just as they arrive to the shore, it is suddenly revealed that the Grand Councilwoman herself has come to arrest Stitch. Stitch, using his new name and broken English, asks to say good-bye to Lilo and Nani, telling the Grand Councilwoman: "This my family. I found it all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good." Lilo presents the certificate of adoption from the dog pound which, as a legally binding document, makes her responsible for Stitch. The Grand Councilwoman sees that Stitch has reformed into a civilized creature under Lilo's care, and so Stitch's sentence of life in exile is altered: he's now considered a ward of Lilo and Nani's. Cobra Bubbles is revealed to be a former CIA agent who previously met the Grand Councilwoman at Roswell, and he promises to keep an eye on the family. The movie ends with both Jumba and Pleakley assigned to Earth (they help rebuild the demolished home with some of their alien technology), and with Stitch being fully accepted into Lilo's family.

SURPRISED AT HOW GOOD THIS MOVIE WAS!

A nicely done and very cute little movie. SO loved that Disney started creating more diverse characters of color for their animated films! Just wished that the house of Mouse would create even more funny and entertaining hand drawn animated family films like this one.Lire l'avis complet...

Love it

I am a huge Lilo & Stitch fan. I love Stitch so much. I understand the lady reviewing with the comment "stupid head," as any parent would agree it is not a nice word and some younger children might not understand it is not nice to say. This movie is great, but I think parents should you should definately watch it with your children if they are young and might pick up negative attributes. I explained to my children, children should not talk to parants like Lilo talks to her sister. I also explained that you should never lock your parents out of the house and a few other negative attributes. Otherwise I think this is a good family movie.Lire l'avis complet...

A classic I wasn’t expecting.

The animation is perfect for telling this unique story. Hawaii is beautifully illustrated. The alien fortress is envisioned with ingenious and thought provoking detail. Character based humor is evident throughout the movie. Stitch is particularly hilarious, and though edgy, never comes across as irredeemably mean spirited. Kids will love his boundary breaking moments but will also relate to the core message of of family loyalty.Lire l'avis complet...

Nobody gets left behind...uh huh huh huh.

I love this film...it's got aliens, beautiful girls, hula dancing, surfing, ELVIS tunes, a cute alien dancing to Elvis, a fiesty younger sister who cares about things in the right way, a HUGE welfare guy named..."Bubbles, yes, I know..." and a great moral, "Ohana means family...and nobody gets left behind..." It's for kids, yeah ok, but it brings ou the kid in me and I am 68 years old! Lire l'avis complet...

I absolutely love this movie!

It's one of my favorites, even as an adult because the characters and themes are so engaging and well developed. Themes like what it means to be a family, finding your place/role in a family, and the impact of relationships. And the characters are not only dynamic, but very endearing too. I love it.Lire l'avis complet...

all the Lilo and Stitch movies...

your kids (boy or girl) will love these... and cool elvis tunes for the partents too... the first is about Lilo (from Hawaii) who meets space alien monster Stitch who she adopts as a (what she thinks is a) dog. Then everything goes wrong and her older sister/gardian almost has her little sister taken away, but in the end, Stitch changes his bad ways and saves the day and Lilo gets to stay/live with her sister Nawni (their parents are deceased). Lilo and Stitch 2 (called the STitch movie) is about other evil space alien creations like Stitch (his so-called cousins) are let loose in Hawaii after their friend is kidnapped and they have to save their friend and find all the space cousins and turn them good and find a place for each one. The next Lilo and Stitch (Stitch has a Glitch) is about Lilo's Hula dancing and Stitch is her partner, but his badness levels are on the rise again and he is mal-functionning. Stitches family and friends fight to save his life, and all is well in the end. The last movie, Leroy and Stitch, is about Stitch leaving Hawaii and earth to be captain of a space ship (as well as his space friends), but they miss home in Hawaii... but an evil space rabbit clones Stitch 100s of times and makes an army of evil Stitches to take over the universe, but in the end, Stitch and Lilo and friends save the day and all return to live in peace on earth once again in Hawaii. The best about all these movies is the Elvis Presley music mixed in... enjoy...Lire l'avis complet...

Great movie if you like Stitch, Hawaii, and aliens!

Do not listen to the reviewer who gave it a bad rating- whoever it is, is VERY OVERPROTECTIVE AND SUPER CLOSED-MINDED! (No offense but you are. Saying you aren't and your actions/words scream the opposite weakens your review and it deserves to be ignored!) Little kids shouldn't be watching PG movies to begin with, unless they are able to handle it. There's no swearing or anything overly bad (saying stupidhead isn't nice, but you shouldn't be so over sensitive on a minor thing like that when there's tons of other things to be sensitive over that's worthwhile) in it, so why complain? It's realistic how Lilo and Nani fight and they happen to be struggling orphans, ever notice that? Stitch helps them stay together and life gets better for them when he becomes part of their family, plus his naughtyness is somewhat reversed by Lilo's love for him. It's a beautiful story with real art (such as watercolor backgrounds actually painted by human hands, NOT A COMPUTER for once) and it teaches people to stay together despite hardship. But I do agree with the low-rating reviewer that Lilo & Stitch 2 is a better movie, it is, in it's own special way. It shows the power of love between Lilo and Stitch, definitely get L&S Stitch has a Glitch! Stitch the movie was also good, though more a long episode than a movie- I love the animated series as well, best thing Disney has decided to publish in a long time. (A lot of the time and especially of late, they've been putting out more crap which is tasteless, boring, and worthless time wasting nonsense). Get anything Lilo and Stitch (but only if you're a fan first- it's hard to like at first, but once you're in, you don't want to leave the Stitchie world).Lire l'avis complet...

Fun & entertaining movie!

I hadn't seen this movie since my daughter was younger. I had a vague memory that I had enjoyed the movie b/c of Stitch's zany ways. I bought it b/c I am building a Disney collection for my 3-year-old granddaughter. While I babysat her last night, I pulled out this video & she LOVED it!! In fact, she made me watch it 4 times in a row with her! She would fast-forward the beginning scene with the alien meeting & the scenes with the social worker, which she felt were scary. (Being a retired CPS worker, I found these scenes disturbing) She thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the movie. She loved dancing to Elvis Presley's songs/music during the movie & the credits. She loved the main characters' personalities & relationship. She's now going around the house saying, "Ohana means family..." Very cute movie!Lire l'avis complet...
