Best Leica Ever

I love the Leica M3 because it looks beautiful, yet is basic and simple. The camera is all mechanical and it works day in and day out, no batteries required. You will need a light meter or can go with the, 'sunny 16 rule,' for exposure and the camera comes with a self timer. The viewing systems of the M3 is one of Leica's best. The widest viewing lines in the viewfinder are 50mm, anything wider requires a separate viewfinder, if you can live with that focusing and composing are wonderful. I like collecting antiques cameras, specially Leica Cameras, including a lot of accessaries and parts. Sometimes I like to collect some other brands too, like a Japanese cameras, Canon, Nikons in the early ages of years. Leica M3

It is unfair to compare the Leica M3 with any other camera. There just isn't any comparison. The M3 will outshoot, outlast, any camera made, and will blow away a digital camera. Coupled with any good Leitz lens, you have an unbeatable combination for quality pictures. The M3 with Summicron lens is still the standard by which all rangefinders are measured. Everything you read about the camera is true. The build is precise, no wasted weight, smooth operation, perfect. No battery means no light meter but Sunny 16 Rule takes care of that. Probably the best rangefinder ever made

As long as the rangefinder chambers are not beyond repair, M3's will go on for ever. They are arguably the turest rangefinder ever made - of solid brass, huge viewfinder, and a long and accurate focusing base. Best Leica M ever

Leica M3 is one the best M rangefinder ever made. Having own two M6 ( TTL and Classic ) as we all a M2, I find the M3 is my personal fav. The viewfinder is amazingly huge and bright and non of the leice M could ever match that. The rewind crank is silky smooth and it's a joy to use.
