50mm Summilux-M 1.4 ASPH: a fantastic lens

The modern silver Summilux (1.4) 50mm M mount is a fantastic lens. Sharp, fantastic build quality, smooth focus and aperture, built-in hood and modern look.

In spite of the high price tag, I would argue the value is good as those lenses retain and may even increase in value.

The silver version of the 50mm is heavier than its black counterpart. If weight is an issue, I'd recommend the black version, or an older non-aspherical version.Lire l'avis complet...

The best 50 mm lens I have ever used.

This is, by far, the best lens I have used or owned. Period

I have bought this lens a month ago, and I have taken around 1000 exposures with it.

Just to mention, I have the chrome version of this lens and it weighs more than the black version by around 120 g. It is a pleasure to hold and feel! No lens has such perfection in built quality.

The price is high. Of course Leica fans will say you get what you pay for. I agree, but Leica's insane prices not only because the cost of hand made products as the cost of manufacturing is high. But the logo, being special and always there're people will pay our limited production capacity. If Nikon make this lens, I don't think it will be more than 2000$.

This lens produces the best image quality I have seen. And the creamy bokeh is the best.

THIS IS THE FINEST 50 LENS THAT IS AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET.
CHROME ONE IS ALL BRASS WHICH IS THE ONE I LIKE.
BLACK ONE IS ALIMINUM BODY WITH BRASS HELIOCOIDS AND IS A LITTLE LIGHTER/CHEAPER THAN THE CHROME ONE. OPTICALLY THE SAME.
LENS IS VERY WELL CRAFTED AND THE OPTICS ARE EXTREMELY SUPERIOR.
